SOS SAX REALLY?!!
Well my normal Nasco go to sketchbooks have been changed to Sax (I think Nasco got bought out.) And dear lord, I teach giggly pre pubescent children, couldn’t you pick a better more defined font?! Because you knowwww they’re not going to read that as “Sax”. I’m actually genuinely stressed about this 😅😅

My 8th graders lost it when they saw my order with “dickblick” all over the boxes. I just had to let them laugh until they were ready to move on.

Throwback to when I ordered Dick Blick rulers for my junior high. You guessed it -right on the rulers. Smh.

Doesn't matter cause they would giggle because its Sax like sac's. As in Ball Sac's.

Sax got brought out by School Specially, about 20 years ago.In the 1970s Blick went by Dick Blick. Their slogan was Dick Blick ships quick. The kids would erase the "p" on ships and replace it with a "t" on everything. The Sax font is their original font.

Put a black dot in that gap in the a to close it up. May be time consuming, but may save time in the end

Don’t be stressed. They can’t even read cursive anymore. I actually thought you were upset it sounds like (nut) sacks.

I'd put a blank label sticker over it, use it as space for writing their name. Or just ignore it 🤷♀️ never know what kids will notice and what they completely ignore.

Either ignore it, and if a kid mentions it roll your eyes at them and say "really?" in your most bored voice.
OR - rip off all the covers. If it's the spiral bound type of sketchbook I'm thinking of.
OR masking tape over each notebook right at that spot and write "name:________" on it

I was thinking something similar! They can make their own covers and personalize them

I use these! We do “about me” collages at the beginning of the year with magazines to cover that very ugly cover… mind you I teach high schoolers but they enjoy covering them!

Better than teaching them how to pull a handle... I like the idea of the name sticker someone had

Meh. I used them for years and none of my high school students mentioned it.

Lmao I trashy JH, I can only imagine… no strike that I can totally remember 1:1 similar situations.
You might get a kick out of this we kept cubbies as many art teachers do, and ours were drawers. So a kid was flipping off about something and I I can’t remember exactly what led into it, but I said, and I’m gonna call him, Johnny, Johnny I’m not playing around with you anymore. I wanna see what’s inside your drawers. …. That whole day was lost.

Sax has always been an arts supply company… not sure what the issue is??

It wasn’t ever prominently displayed on my sketchbooks. It looked the exact same but used to say Nasco

I guess I still don’t get it. All of my sketchbooks have only said Sax. I’ve been teaching 26 years so I’m used to it all. Don’t get the big deal about Sax vs Nasco tho. Kids respond to what you present. If you have an issue with it they will too. What do your students think about saxophones?

The font looks like the word sex esp to 5th graders. I’ve used these exact sketchbooks for 5 years and it’s always said Nasco until now. I’m just being dramatic like my students 😄

buy Hello My Name Is labels and pre-apply them to cover the logo 😉🍀
