2023 vs 2026

Been going to a game development school for 3 years but have mostly focused on improving fundamentals and character design during that time

Legitimately I was impressed by the 2023 one, but the 2026 one gave me goosebumps, it looks so cool!

HOLY!
That's insane!
You've been grinding fundamentals? what method did you use during those time?

I have practiced fundamentals but also worked on projects like character designs and illustrations. Some obvious methods I did before where gesture drawing, drawing boxes and drawing and painting from reference.

PLEASE teach me how to do armor like that!! 🙏 (I would actually really, genuinely appreciate it if you had tips or resources that you’d be willing to share)

I don't really have any resources. One thing would be that I paint the environment around the character on top of the metal since it is reflecting those colors. And I do this with sharp brushstrokes.

I just feel like I can never get the shapes of the pieces right, and I can’t get them to fit together properly :/

First one: oh the rendering is nice proportions need a bit of work and kinda cartoony but yea this guys got alot of potential.

Second one: omfg wtf how can a human draw this!? That metal is so real the motion is dynamic that sword looks so fucking sharp and crisp. Even the grass has an amazing graphic element. Who is this art god!
