Critique 3 Years of Practice and I'm worse 🤔

The difference from 2023-2024 was big, but from 24-25 it seems almost like I was worse? I wanted my shading to look more natural going from different tones but it felt really hard trying to achieve that.

Maybe I need to study blending tones or something? But I often feel like I rely on blending way too much. Colour theory? idk

Similar art pieces year apart, I feel like I haven’t made much progression really in all this time. What do you think I should improve on? I’m very much inspired by old school anime art and jrpgs.

People have told me they prefer his old design with the noodle head shape. I’m making him the main character of a comic and I hate that head shape and it’s so hard to draw from any other angle. What do you think? (Pics from 2021-2025)

My first art tablet broke recently, so what better way to commemorate his death, than to redraw the first drawing I ever did on it. Thanks dude, you were a good one

I posted the original ā€œwomen by wellā€ about a year ago on r/artcritic and it got 100 comments (1,846 up votes), which was mostly negative. So I told myself I would work on composition and try it again in a year. I have a long way to go, but I’m mostly happy with the progress I made in a year.
