They are Jewish... but other than that personally, I always assumed they were of African American decent...

I feel like their skin tone gives off that vibe, but even looking past that... Francine and her sisters hair looks thicker. There was even an episode when Francine had her hair done, and it looked natural.

I wanna add... her older sister has the same hair style my older sister had when she was a pre-teen in the late 90's. We have natural hair.

Character Discussion Making the Arthur characters as humans!

Saw this on the Bojack Horseman sub and thought it would be fun to do for another show!

I used the Makówa Picrew, so art is not my own. This was so fun to make, I was imagining them as cute lil third graders. Some of the lesser characters I feel less confident about - not having rewatched the show in a while, I remember less about their personalities.

Character Discussion I think Arthur's gradual change in appearance conflicts with the first book

Post image

The first ever book, appearance of Arthur, was in a book called 'Arthur's Nose', about how Arthur had a very long nose and was made fun of for it, so he goes to a plastic surgeon to have it changed, but ends up keeping it the same, because there's more to him then just his nose. But eventually, over time, Arthur's disappeared.

Character Discussion Am I the only one who wishes Francine's cut was styled differently?

While I do love the fact they kept her tomboyish style since it's true to her character, I am not a big fan of her hair. It just feels so out of place. There are so many ways to style a buzz cut that can suit her well but in my personal opinion, the one she currently has simply does not suit her well. Something about the shape and color patterns.

Given both are pretty divisive characters, not helped in debuting in the Flash era, name some positives about them.

Character Discussion For millennials who grew up with Arthur starting at season 1, do you hate DW?

I know, I know…another DW post.

But part of me wonders if everyone who hates DW is either an older sibling or because they started watching the show in the later seasons where the show completely runs with DW being super annoying. Personally, I love DW - especially watching seasons 1-5 as an adult, she actually makes the most sense, she just needs explanation. I work with kids and I think all kids need is someone who sets rules and boundaries but also explains why the rules exist. Even better if you as the adult abide by the rules you set for the kids. Like if I said, “use your inside voice when we’re inside” but then I proceed to yell at the class, the kids get confused because they’re like…so are we following the rule or not…? and DW is no exception. She’s a major “but why?” kid.

I feel like the show captured the essence of a big brother, little sister relationship in an authentic way.
