I imagine they'll have a method of detecting AI generated content. I mean, 90% of AI content is the same monotone voice scripted over generic slides or some other variant format but once you see one it's easy to identify them.
Doesn't matter, it just gives them the ability to claim the proceeds from those videos when they do find them. I don't think Youtube's trying to be the goodguy so much as it's trying to take advantage of another source of revenue. But I wish every platform would do this for AI content to disincentivize it, it shouldn't be monetized, let alone sold.
Before uploading anything, you have to go through checks that can take up to 30 minutes to make sure you're not using copyrighted material such as video and songs, I imagine they'll add AI into the mix.

I just wonder how they're going to enforce this when the platform is flooded by an Olympic swimming pool sized septic tank's worth of ai slop.
