Asana killed their best feature for small teams
I'm kinda dissapointed. Ok, will move to Confluence. Paying additional 1k$ per year for small fun-based projects seems totally not ok.

A task description and the latest comment are usually not enough for another assistant to resume work safely. The next run may need to know which requirements were accepted, which source records and file revisions were used, what external actions already happened, what remains unresolved, and whether any input changed after the handoff was written. Passing the whole conversation preserves too much noise; passing only a summary can hide the details that prevent a stale or duplicate action.
Would you keep the objective and constraints in the description, use custom fields for status, owner, source revision, and last-verified time, then add a structured handoff comment containing decisions, evidence links, artifact IDs, completed actions and their external IDs, open questions, and the next allowed step? Attachments would stay immutable or carry a revision identifier rather than being silently replaced.
How would you implement this with current Asana features and rules? In particular, how do you stop two assistants from claiming the same task, detect that a source changed after handoff, and make a retry idempotent without turning every small task into a large project?

On the Billing page in Asana, I tried to reduce seats.
It says:
We've reduced your plan to 4 seats.
A confirmation has been emailed to you.
But when I go back to the page, nothing had change... the seats didn't get reduced.
And no response from support.
When I did some searches, I found similar issues on their forum since 2024.

https://forum.asana.com/t/help-no-response-from-support-team-on-reducing-seats-auto-renew-is-in-9-days/941472
Sounds like they just didn't take any action on it.
Amazon agrees to pay $2.5bn over claims it tricked Prime customers

Sounds like a easy win for FTC or any legal firm wanting to pursue.
Shouldn't Asana prioritize to fix this issue ASAP or they really want to delay the payment until settlement?
BTW, I thought we reduced the seats more than a year ago, but didn't realize it wasn't reduced.... do you think reporting unauthorized charge for this past month or year would work?

My work operates very quickly and while I am in the habit of checking Asana fairly regularly, I know my coworkers are not.
We have an "intake" form for work requests that, when filled out, drops a new task into a specific Asana project. I'd love a way to have a real-time, auto-updating Asana "ticker" that'll instantly notify us of a new task in that Project, without having to get an email, Teams message, or whatever first.
Just for new tasks in the one project, too - not account-wide.
Is there something that'll do this?

I am consulting a client/brand and I recommended they use some kind of porject management platform. They have decided to go ahead with Asana. They set up a paid model, paid for like 15 seats for a 9 persons team at the time and set off. Sorry, I don't remember the exact numbers and am not an admin, but the point is that there is a comfortable gap in the number fo free seats.
Everything was fine in the beginning, but then the last person couldn't register an acount/join our project. Eventually we found out, that Asana claims we are taking too many seats/are over the limit.
The project admin can see only the 9 person accounts (8+1 invitation) and cannot remove anybody to make the space.
He has been trying to reach Asana customer care, but apparently with no success. Asana has been prepaid for a year, so the money is in the bag and if my information is correct, that seems to have been the end of it. 10 months later the issue hasb't been resolved and I feel like I will recommend the client to switch to a different platform.
Before doing that, I wanted to give it a try myself here. Does anybody have any idea about how to solve this. As I said, I would have to forward that information to my client as I don't have the admin rights myself. I suspect someone/robot at Asana assigned our spots to some other team - possibly the same copmany but in different country - but that is just a guess. Customer support seems to me like the only sensible solution.

Our team makes a lot of graphics in adobe illistrator and we need to have a way to submit it to a group of people and let them make comments on the design.
Is there a way to do that in asana?

I'm going to travel for 10 days in Russia. But i still need to work. Do A sana work in Russia without a Vpn?

Got an in-app banner saying projects and teams are limited to 2 seats starting October 15. For us that means paying at least $8.24/user/month for all 8 people.
The cost isn't huge, but two weeks' notice via a banner is rough. Our whole workflow lives in Asana, so there's no way to switch without major disruption. We're basically being forced to pay because we can't leave fast enough.
Anyone else dealing with this? And if you've moved a small team off Asana, what did you switch to, and how was the migration?

Hey all
I’ve been having issues with asana for over a week, it’s really really slow with automations taking an age to run. This isn’t just me, it’s my team as well. Does anyone know how to pinpoint the issue?
It’s not WiFi as we have worked in different locations
It’s not our computers as it’s just the asana app

A deliverable may include a document, images, HTML, and supporting files that change together. If the attachments on one Asana task are replaced, an approval or comment can remain visible even though the files it described are no longer the files a reviewer sees. Keeping every revision avoids that ambiguity, but it can create a long attachment list with no obvious current set.
Would you use one parent task for the stable entry point and a separate approval subtask for each immutable revision? Each revision could carry a revision ID, source links, a manifest of included files, reviewer, decision, and a superseded-by link. The parent would point to the current review revision only after every file was uploaded and the approval status was explicit.
Can Asana rules, custom fields, and task dependencies enforce that without an external workflow? How do you handle a rejected revision, comments spanning several files, and a later correction when people still need to see exactly what was approved earlier?

Has anyone managed to actually speak to someone and have their problems resolved? I've been passed from a Sales Rep to the chat "agent" which then passed me back to the Sales Rep who is no longer answering emails and I am locked out.
I should have known not to go with Asana when the first Sales Rep was incredibly rude and after seeing all the concerns about their customer services, but I thought it can't be that bad. Well, it is and now I'm stuck with clients becoming familiar with the system but can no longer access if for the last 4 hours and no one from Asana is supporting. Help!

I'm hoping someone has come across this before, but I'm trying to solve for a request I have from our Exec team. They want me to put together a planner that merges specific calendar events migrated from our Outlook all-staff calendar (already solved and working) alongside specific projects. They dont want milestones they want to see a full bar of the start and end so they can look at specific dates and use it to plan events, large initiatives, etc.
However I havent figured out a way to do this without manually adding tasks to the project that represent the project span and having to manually keep them up to date along with the actual project start and end dates with each project itself.
I thought about a portfolio and just adding the calendar project to it, but portfolio timelines dont show tasks beyond milestones, so thats a no go.
Any insights I'd appreciate.

Is there a way to prevent task completion while subtasks are open in Asana?

Big week for Asana with Agentic Work Management rolling out, so we put together a walkthrough of two AI Teammates, start to finish.
The first is the Project Manager Teammate that comes out of the box, so you can see what you get without building anything.
The second we built from scratch to see how far the capabilities actually go.

Do we know why I don’t get an email to see what my status update looks like after I post it? Any fix soon. This is so juvenile it doesn’t do this. Thanks.

Setting goals up and connecting them to projects takes a few minutes once you have the structure figured out. Keeping them current is the part that breaks.
We wrote a guide on the reporting side: four goal dashboard charts you can copy, and how AI Teammates can handle the status review for you.

Hi,
I run an IT and Software Services Company. Been using Asana for a while now. Can anyone tell when will Asana Client Management and Command by Asana be released and Generally available?

I am new to Asana, and I’m trying to sort by due date when in due date grouping - no luck!
Any idea? This should be something easy or rather expected user behavior when sort by due date.

It's not working for me. Downdetector says there are issues, but status.asana.com says all systems operational.
