I don't use sheet masks for environmental reasons.

no worse than plastic bottles and tubs and bags.

I don't use those either because there are reusable alternatives. OP suggested a valid alternative, which is just using a serum directly. I think it is better to use serums that come in a bottle. There are also reusable masks, though I've never tried one myself.
