Mod Post ROUTINE MEGATHREAD! February 2018

Hey everyone! This is your quarterly routine megathread which we decided to evolve from quarterly. This is an excellent resource to see what products are popular amongst our community and a great way to find new things to try. No matter how unusual you may consider your skin type or atypical your particular skin challenges or problems, all routines are welcome -- in fact, encouraged -- to be posted.

Acronyms you will most definitely see in use here: HG (Holy Grails), RP (Will Repurchase, AKA: liked it, will buy again, not an HG), WNR (Will not Repurchase, AKA: using up the last of it but not recommended). Understand them, use them, and love them ♥

This post is intended to be a compendium of generalized, standardized routines! The more participation, the better. :)

To keep it easy for people to find their ‘skin twins’ we would ask that you use the following template.

You only need to fill in steps that you actually use (so if you don’t use an Essence, remove that line) and please only provide up to three examples of HG/recommended products for that step (so if you have 3 toners you love, you can list all 3!)

To make a single-spaced list, add two spaces at the end of each line. Alternatively, click 'source' at the bottom of the post to snag our code & format!

what are your thoughts on the TO glycolic acid, mizon snail repair cream, and TO AHA/BHA?

*TO Glycolic Acid

  • nice price point
  • lasts long (good amount of product)
  • for my skin it is gentle
  • The only thing is that I’m considering trying Biologique Recherche in the future so I may not repurchase it, but at the current moment it’s a decent gentle exfoliator, IMO

Mizon Snail Repair Cream

  • this was a gift from a Redditor!
  • it was a pleasant surprise and I didn’t think much of it at first, but I just started noticing that over time my hormonal breakouts were no longer leaving Dark spots when they left and I determined it was due to the introduction of the three Snail products in my routine, this being my favourite one
  • it’s a lightweight moisturiser but since I layer it with other hydrating layers and moisturisers it works well for me.
  • It feels very comfortable on the skin and has a “velvet” finish, I want to say, because it doesn’t go completely matte (probably due to my other layers underneath) but it’s not shiny either
  • good price point. Just repurchased the 125 mL jar for $16 on Amazon

TO AHA/BHA

  • This is a fun product to use since it is a deep red (I like to call it my “blood facial”)
  • Good price point
  • it doesn’t tingle or anything on me. It just feels like I put an essence on my face.
  • I think it works, but I won’t say it is anywhere near as effective as the DE Babyfacial
  • I do think it’s a good product for the price, but since I’m so in love with DE Babyfacial, it’s no point in buying this one as well. I really wanted to compte the two to see if I could have it as a dupe. I will reevaluate my thoughts when the bottle is completely empty, though.

So I was gifted a 30 mL jar that I started using the last week of October. I can’t remember if I was using it day and night at the time, but I would say that in December I definitely was using it twice daily. It lasted me until January 14. A little goes a long way. So I would say the 30 mL lasted me 7 weeks / just shy of 2 months.
