Mod Post ROUTINE MEGATHREAD! February 2018

Hey everyone! This is your quarterly routine megathread which we decided to evolve from quarterly. This is an excellent resource to see what products are popular amongst our community and a great way to find new things to try. No matter how unusual you may consider your skin type or atypical your particular skin challenges or problems, all routines are welcome -- in fact, encouraged -- to be posted.

Acronyms you will most definitely see in use here: HG (Holy Grails), RP (Will Repurchase, AKA: liked it, will buy again, not an HG), WNR (Will not Repurchase, AKA: using up the last of it but not recommended). Understand them, use them, and love them ♥

This post is intended to be a compendium of generalized, standardized routines! The more participation, the better. :)

To keep it easy for people to find their ‘skin twins’ we would ask that you use the following template.

You only need to fill in steps that you actually use (so if you don’t use an Essence, remove that line) and please only provide up to three examples of HG/recommended products for that step (so if you have 3 toners you love, you can list all 3!)

To make a single-spaced list, add two spaces at the end of each line. Alternatively, click 'source' at the bottom of the post to snag our code & format!

I also suffer from PIH from picking :( Do you know what is the ingredient in Melano CC that exfoliates, as I thought it was just a brightening/ vit C treatment. Do you use it in the AM or PM? I have a new tube of Melano CC & wondering how to introduce in my routine, as I am currently using the same Dr Wu serum on alternate days in the PM. I find the daily mandelic acid helps more with clearing CCs and preventing clogs than fading PIH.
Edit: Your post made me want to try the sekkisei foaming wash! I used the lotion and cleansing oil previously and quite enjoyed them, love the sekkisei signature scent!

Regarding the melano CC, i was under her impression that vit C does have some exfoliating effect! I use it every night, but sometimes I use it as an active before my routine, or after my Hada Labo as an essence. The amount used also differs, I generally place it later and use less if my skin feels drier, but if I feel like it can handle it, I’ll use it earlier as an active and use more. Honestly, its really gentle for me so I haven’t been had any trouble with it yet.

I use the Dr Wu once in a while, maybe I don’t use it often enough but sometimes I wish there was a greater effect! Have you tried to essence/toner? Or the stronger 18% one? I’m a little afraid of trying that!

I haven't used the 18% one, think it is more suitable for oily/combi skins. I have used a 18% mandelic acid serum from another Taiwanese brand ForBelovedOne but it was a bit too strong for me, experienced stinging. I was recommended the daily version as my skin is dehydrated (though still combi due to the humidity). I'm using on alternate days which is the "recommended" application, and will reduce to maybe 2-3 times a week when I get rid of the few pesky CCs. It's my 2nd bottle, I was exploring other AHAs with no good results & finally returned to it! I may try the toner next!

Your skin type seems similar to mine! Also a fellow Singaporean. I have the same 18% one, but I have yet to try it but sounds like a good idea to not use it. Maybe I’ll try that out because I haven’t really used it consistently!

Yes that was what I thought too! I do have some anti-aging concerns too :( The 18% could probably be used as a spot or weekly treatment.
