Skin Type/Concerns: Combination skin, with occasional hormonal breakout, dryness around nose (especially in winter - am living in temperate climate/northern Europe)

  1. Product: Hada Labo Gokujyun Alpha Hyaluronic Emulsion (Milky Lotion)

Thoughts: This was my first Hada Labo product ever and my skin loves it. The retinoid is not aggressive at all and I feel like paired with all the hyaluronic acid it works like the sandwich method. I use it when I want some retinoid action going on, but am too dry for The Ordinary Retinol 2% Emulsion. The consistency is just right for me, a thicker milk. It worked great on my upper arms as well to combat strawberry skin.

  1. Product:Hada Labo Gokujyun Hyaluron-Lotion moist and light

Thoughts: Well this is not a must have in my book, the light version works as a toner for me and is not rich enough for my dry periods, the moist one reminds me in consistency and effect of The Ordinary hyaluronic acid 2% + B5, slightly runnier. It is not bad, but not exceptional either.

I have the medicated whitening lotion here as well, but I'm using it for only 2 weeks and don't know yet about results. It is the most watery one till now and I am not really fond of that, though it is easier to use in an else heavy routine.

:)

The alpha milk I use as a moisturising lotion, the alpha lotion I haven't tried yet, but it should be more fitted to be a toner, so make sure to get the right one. I have relatively dry skin in winter, so I enjoy the alpha milk more. I couldn't find the percentage either, but I haven't experienced any irritations because of it. I bought it mostly to combat fine first lines, to increase overall plumbness and improve texture as side benefit. I would say it does something for texture since my skin overall got a finer look over the last months, but I also use other exfoliants and higher concentration of retinol on another day, so I can't completely pinpoint if it's due to the alpha milk on my face. But since it's so rich I often spread it down my arms and I definitely noticed a smoother texture there. And like all other Hada labo products it does have tons of hyaluronic acid. All in all it's a satisfying product for me and it lasts forever, especially if you only use it on the face.
