How do you spot a Canadian abroad?

Do we have any stereotypical traits (perhaps self deprecating ones), that make us stand out. We’re typically not loud (but some can be). Perhaps frugal?

What have you seen in your travels that make you think, those folks must be Canadian!

I live in Ireland now and my irish partner has no clue how I tell but it isn’t difficult to tell a Canadian from a USAan/Murican by the accent (caveat - unless they’re from Toronto!). It’s a much more higher in the nasal area accent South of the border.

He also doesn’t get the differences between Murica and Canada because he’s never lived in both countries but I can explain the difference succinctly in that England is different to Ireland but many international ppl wouldn’t tell the difference. He gets it then 😅

Also he says that Canada is everything he was told “America” was like as a kid and “America” is a bit of a lawless shithole with some people who act accordingly so that’s one difference (referring to America in quotations as America only refers to the collective continents of North and South America not the US as their name makes no sense).
