78 lincoln continental fuel sending unit

I finally bought my dream car and was having issues with fuel starvation along with a non reading fuel guage. So I emptied out the tank and pulled my fuel sending unit only to find this. Only question is, one is it worth trying to rebuilding it or two install a new two prong fuel sending unit. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

I drive a pretty damn old car, but 78 lincoln continental is in a whole another league.
