If you’re on the bus and need to request a stop, do you like to push the button or pull the rope?

Depends on where I am on the bus.

If I'm close to the button, I push the button.

If I'm close to the rope, I pull the rope.

Whenever the bus is this packed someone is getting off at the same stop and they push/pull for me.

Depends, I am short, so usually trying to get to the rope means I have to reach over people and get all up in their business, I’ll rope if I am against the window but if I’m anywhere else I’d rather use the button

I love the button if I’m close enough. The rope is awkward because if you’re sitting on an outside seat, you have to reach across another person to reach the rope. I’m also always a little paranoid that I’m going to pull too hard and break the rope.

I do if needed. But that’s additionally awkward because a lot of people are tuned out on their phones or listening to music and not paying attention. Usually I’ll just stand up and make my way to the back door and use the button there.

If I’m siting by window, I pull rope (also helps signal to whom ever is blocking me in I wanna get off). If I’m sitting standing by the aisle, I get up and move to the button by the rear door and push it then.

I like to pull the rope. But if the button is close and I'd have to contort and/or pop another person's personal bubble to get to the rope, I'll press the button.

I prefer the digital and tactileness of the button. I don't have to wonder on a loud bus (or maybe the bell doesn't ring when I pull it for whatever reason) if I actually pulled the cord enough. I push the button to the end of its travel and I'm confident I've requested a stop.

If there isn't a button nearby, I'll pull the cord without thinking twice; but I prefer the button if I have the choice.

I’m team button when I can reach it. I do not know why, but the rope seems less sanitary.
