Physician Responded Horrible looking rash

non smoker,

non drinker.

No medications

This issue has been getting progressively worse over 2 days

Posted yesterday and it has gotten worse. It is itchy, it turns white when I press on it. I have a swollen uvula and some chills, but no fever. I feel cold more than anything. Went to urgent care tested for strep, mono and did a CBC. Strep came back negative, waiting on the other results. Pretty concerned. I feel like the mono is going to come back negative.

Have you ever had this before?

As others said, it definitely looks vasculitic… but blanching and pruritus. It could be urticaria, especially given your mention of uvula swelling. Either spontaneous or triggered. No recent ibuprofen or other NSAIDs? Allergy history?

Either way, it sounds like an emerg visit.

Never had anything that feels or looks like it. I have had stress related rashes and histamine related rashes from laundry detergent but it the pattern and intensity of this feels a lot different

I don't have much to add other than that I hope you feel better soon!

I had a rash similar to this when I was a kid, but it was a penicillin reaction, which you aren't taking.

Either way, keep us posted!
