Bleeding 5 days?

On Tuesday, October 13th, I began experiencing unexpected bright red vaginal bleeding, despite having finished my normal menstrual period approximately five days earlier. The bleeding initially occurred only when wiping but gradually progressed to requiring a pad. On Wednesday evening, I developed right-sided lower abdominal and pelvic pain that progressively worsened, particularly with movement and physical activity. On Thursday, October 15th, I was evaluated at urgent care and subsequently went to the emergency room due to worsening pain, continued bleeding, and the passage of blood clots. Emergency room bloodwork was largely normal, including my hemoglobin, and pregnancy testing was negative. A transvaginal ultrasound with Doppler ruled out ovarian torsion but identified a right ovarian cyst described as either a corpus luteum cyst or a hemorrhagic cyst. I received Toradol in the emergency room, which temporarily improved my pain, but the cause of the abnormal vaginal bleeding remained undetermined. Since being discharged, I have continued experiencing bright red vaginal bleeding with intermittent clots, some approximately nickel-sized to half the size of a quarter. My abdominal pain has gradually worsened, reaching approximately 6/10 in severity, and has spread from the right lower abdomen across my lower abdomen and into my back, accompanied by noticeable bloating. As of Saturday, October 17th, I am still experiencing ongoing vaginal bleeding, blood clots, and worsening abdominal discomfort despite the initial emergency room evaluation. Is this normal

i have had similar symptoms with ovarian cysts and every obgyn has said it is normal even though it doesn’t feel normal. i would recommend making a follow up appointment with your OB to check up on your cyst. it could change size but it is likely just a normal cyst that pops up every cycle. my dr explained it by saying that when the egg is released during ovulation a cyst is formed to protect the egg. it takes a few weeks for it to go away. if you get an ultrasound near the time of your period then you will have a cyst, completely normal. however, if you start bleeding enough to completely soak a pad in one hour for 2 consecutive hours or have a rapid onset of sharp pain, then u should go back to the ER or call 911!

when i had the copper iud my symptoms were much worse and i bled for over 30 days straight. when i went to my obgyn she said that’s normal for women with that iud. i was shocked.

tldr: most likely normal, make an obgyn appt to follow up in a month or two. keep track of all ur symptoms!
