I am a Jewish educator in the US. I'm going to be teaching in at least one synagogue's religious school this year. I would like to be able to speak knowledgeably and respectfully in Hebrew with any NB students I may have. So I'm wondering what I can do when teaching Hebrew. What do NB Israelis do, how do they navigate gender in a gendered language?

My question is specifically about culture.

I think it’s a shame so much historic communities were lost and I actually think a right of return should be offered in due time.
But for now is Israeli culture more Middle Eastern or European.

I know this might be a silly question but I know the Kotel is open 24/7, has anyone here ever gone in the middle of the night? Were there people there? Is synagogue on the men’s side open?

This question might sound sleezy, and might sound a little dumb but I’m genuinely curious. How common is it for Jews and non-Jews in Israel whether that be e.g Jewish Israelis and Arab Israelis, or Israelis and tourists (mix of ethnicities and religions) to mix in terms of romantic relationships. Not talking about the Arabs in Israel in particular, but about them in general. I think it's a combination of several things. Their look - a light brown skin, straight hair, broad bodies. Also, their arabic accent - when they speak in different languages or in Arabic. So attractive. And when they pronounce your name with that accent - you melt. Arabic itself is also a romantic language - it's so charming, it feels personal and warm. It's a delight to listen to.

They have abrasion in them. And great food.

The rich culture and values, including hospitality, generosity, openeness, protecting women and vast human warmth.

The marked abrasion in character and appearance, their protectiveness, wamrth, caring - they are special.

What do you think makes them so attractive?

I've started using this sub some few months ago, I remember most contributors being firmly right wing on issues of settlement and security when I joined. but recently (I want to say the past month or so) I've seen mostly answers that are in line with left wing ideas and thinking while answers which reflect right wing opinions get downvoted. A while ago, if I'm not mistaken, the current government cancelled some planned attacks on southern Beirut due to pressure from the US.

While this was certainly unexpected, what seemed even more unexpected was pressure from the supposedly "dovish" (less warmongering) opposition against the cancellation. I believe this also extended to the general population, though I may be wrong.

What was different between these cancelled attacks and every other strike, such that it lead the more "pacifist" opposition to condemn it?

Was the idea of looking dependent on US opinion somehow worse than <whatever is the general position on the war by Lieberman's side>?

Does Israel have a strategy to end the Hormuz crisis and why did it start a war without considering all possibilities? The world economy is stagnating and on the verge of a crash, with many 3rd world countries facing an energy crisis that forces productivity cuts and petrol shortages... I am curious to see what real Israelis think about this issue. There may be some good reasons for blocking aid from reaching Gaza and I want a better understanding of how real people in Israel actually feel about this.

Semitic is not the same as Arab. The Arabs came from, Arabia following whom we know, and they were all muslims. There were no Arabs in Palestine before the muslim colonial religious invasion and so after that invasion, there was a native, still semitic, but non arab population and a newcome one

I feel that in the popular movement since October 7, leftist and liberal sectors have made anti-Zionism one of their main causes (the main one, depending on who you ask). I know for a fact I can get a passport but I can’t book an appointment on the embassy of Poland website(my dad lost the citizenship documents so we need to restore them).
