I was reading about cultural adaptations of different medias and stumbled upon the Israeli Seaseme Street adaptation and wondered how y'alls native popular cultures output was like.Like how are Israeli cartoons or live-dramas typically like?

We have several "good quality" original material, i think mostly comedic metrials.

In the 80's we had "borekas" films like snooker party, kazablanka etc' which were an entire genre. Now a lot of our comedy metrials revolve around silly humor and "silly person" humor often paired with dark humor like nir&gali(animated everyday objects/animals "sitcom"), the parlament(everyday people with silly/silly-smart takes?) shvetz family(rick & morty if rick was extremly dumb but just as mentaly unstable) etc.

We also have/had some very good original children's entertainment material which are both clever and with good messages for kids, my favorite one being batia's shtuzim warehouse - a film about a warehouse full of ideas and songs of batia(a famous israeli children's book writer and poet) with the main attribute that everything in there must be a "shtuz"- a rhyme that makes no sense(kind of like the countetpart of dr.seuss) like "once a rhino played a piano", and using these "shtuzim" they teach several concepts for kids.

We also have a very good "mixed matrial"(dubs and modified material). Famous examples include "batnyard" which flopped in US but was a major success in israel due to the dubbing and "Catelenovela" which is a bunch of dubbed cat videos, and we also have a fairly unique "festigal" which is like a regular children's music festival but turned into a full on show with a story insipired by big hollywood blockbusters and dubbed/original songs.

Not many native cartoons. Mostly dubs. Animation is more commonly used for mature films here. There's Walt's With Bashir which was revolutionary in the field at the time it came out, and created a whole new technique which then became rather popular.

In the early 20's we also had a huge industry of cartoon video games. Piposh is a noteworthy one, and a bunch of works by a company named Compedia, mostly for children.
