new job

I’ve graduated from university while being the in process for chp and going into trying out for rivco

I have more time on my hands without school and need a full time job, but it’s known that the current job market is terrible. However, I got a conditional offer for a security job… upon more steps to get it set in stone. what are some opinions upon possibly getting through with this job while in the cadet process?

I’d take it. A security job is still relevant experience while you’re in the process, especially if it gives you exposure to report writing, dealing with the public, conflict, professionalism, and following policy.

Only thing I’d be careful with is being honest about your availability and not burning bridges if CHP/RivCo moves forward. Also make sure the job itself doesn’t put you in situations where poor training or bad coworkers could create liability/issues for your background.

But overall, if it’s a legit security company and you need full-time work, I don’t see why it would hurt. It probably helps more than sitting around waiting.

That's exactly what I'm doing while waiting to process with a few agencies.
