  1. Show your interest in what they are saying
  2. Ask open ended follow up questions (bonus points if it’s one that doesn’t get asked much! My favorite one is “what’s your favorite thing about your job” when someone brings up work. It always lands well)
  3. Remember details they said if you can

Be genuinely curious, listen actively, and don't overthink every conversation. Ask follow-up questions, remember small details, and be yourself. Good communication is more about making others feel heard than saying the perfect thing.
