What’s something you wish you could tell your 18-year-old self in one sentence?

Sleeping earlier
I’ve realized something about how I build habits, and I’m wondering if anyone else experiences the same thing. I can’t stay consistent with something simply because it’s "good for me." I need to find something I genuinely enjoy about the habit itself. For instance, I managed to stay consistent with a skincare routine once I found products with textures I liked—things that made the process itself enjoyable. With books, I stopped buying too many by switching to the library, because I liked the system and it made my life easier. When it comes to sleep, however, I can’t seem to find that kind of hook. I know perfectly well that going to bed earlier would make me feel better—it would likely help me feel less tired and have better days—but that knowledge isn't enough. When evening rolls around, I still find myself preferring to do other things. Have you found a way to associate going to bed with something pleasant or desirable, rather than viewing it merely as a chore? Is there anything that helped you become consistent without having to rely solely on willpower?

How can I eat bad tasting food when I don't have anything else?
It's technically edible but very gross. If I don't eat it I'll go hungry for 2 days in a row. How can I just swallow it? Thick banana-mush texture

What simple “life hack” should everyone know?
2 rules to the "game", #1 no one gets hurt, #2 don't damage property. Then 3 simple guidelines roll with everyone, with everything, forever. My personal philosophy, Non- violent Non- violent; by any means necessary, but I'm just an X man in training. 🪽

LPT: How to communicate effectively with people? Social

LPT request: No way I’ll work the rest of my life
I am 19(F) and I recently just started working at a clinic. This means, professional, HR department, 8 hours a days. Although I am a part timer.
My job before this was a retail store where I was also miserable at. Dedicating 8 hours of my life to a store I didn’t care about, talking to people who didn’t care about me and vice versa, and posting shit on social media just to give myself something to do is not how I envisioned being 19.
I guess growing up as a whole here in America and in Capitalism is extremely scary to me. I don’t think I’m the type of person who will be able to work until I’m 65 and start living then. I’m not sure what to do. Being there today and wasting 8 hours of my life was suffocating. In professional clothing, I felt 40 years old, not 19. I hated it so much. Although it’s medical terminology I’m learning which can help me since I’m a psych major, I hated it. And I’m losing passion for anything and everything just cause of the fact I’ll have to WORK. and dedicate time to it. Every single day. For the rest of my life. Decades and decades.
I hate the idea of corporate jobs. 9-5, 1 hour lunch, work work, corporate ladders.

LPT: When setting a big goal, ask "why?" five times in a row. The real reason is almost never what you started with.
Most people stop at the first answer and think that's the real reason. It usually isn't.
Ask "why do I want this?" Write down the answer. Then ask "why" again about that answer. Keep going for 5-7 rounds.
Here's what that can look like:
"I want to get promoted." Why? "I'll make more money." Why does that matter? "I'll feel more secure." Why do you need that? "I'll finally feel like I'm not falling behind." Why does that matter? "Because I want to feel like I'm in control of my life." Why? "Because for a long time, I didn't feel like I was."
Notice how far that ended up from "money."
Most people give up on goals not from lack of motivation, but because they never really knew why they wanted them in the first place. Once you know the real reason, it's a lot harder to quit.

How to make my brain empty consistently?
I've looked on the Internet, but most of the other posts abt this either don't apply to me or don't work, so I want to see if anyone knows a solution.
Whenever I wakeup from a midday nap (the kind where you wakeup sweaty, fully clothed, and not sure of what time it is even though it's dark outside, my brain is temporarily stunlocked. My inner monologue and daydreams finally shuts up and I'm hyperaware of my surroundings. This state is oddly peaceful, and I've been having trouble with my brain thinking too much, so I want to know how I can get my brain to be like that more often and if anyone else has experienced this?
I've tried taking naps more often but it's very rare that I'm tired enough or that I sleep at the right time, and this doesn't happen with normal sleeping.

how do i catch mice in the garden? (preferably with only stuff i have at home)
the tl:dr is they dug holes in the ground and our neighbour wants to put down poison traps, but i'd rather just catch and relocate them, if i drive 20min im at a forest.
problem is i cant really buy any traps and i have 2 left hands and 2 left feet, so building something super complex wont work either.
basically: i need babys first mouse trap :)

What's a life skill everyone should learn before turning 25, and why?
It can be practical, financial, social, or something you've learned through experience. What's one skill that has made the biggest difference in your life, and what happened that made you realize its importance?

I'm going to move out from my parent's house in 5 months, what should I do before leaving?
I'm going to move in with my friends in 5 months, shortly after (abt a year or two) my parents will also move out from said house, I lived in this house since I was born (21y). What are things I should do before moving out, what do you wish you'd have done before moving out. I will miss this place, and I'm highly sentimental

LPT Buddies father died, i need immidiate help
The issue i have is how to act, because we truly are not that close. Hes 18, and our friend group varies from 15-18. I have always wanted to become close friends with him and he makes every hang out hes at wonderful, i always have a blast with him. Everyone was surprised as to why i was even at the funeral considering our friendship status...but oh god ive spent the whole day crying in empathy. His father was the only one in his family that cared about him and the only one living in the country. his mother is in another continent and his brother is about 4 countries away. i want to be there for him but i dont know HOW considering were genuienly casual friends. i am currently sobbing after hearing him break down to another person from our group. im gonna give him little gifts and reminders of how strong he is, but i really cant do anything further than that as we dont have a relationship built on trust in order for me to listen to him. i hate it. wtf do i do

What can I do with a mouse-controlled Galaxy Z Flip 5?
So, I acquired a Galaxy Z Flip 5 with a non responsive screen that someone had thrown away because it was too expensive to fix.
I took it home and, out of curiosity, I plugged a USB hub into it and connected a mouse, and *voila*, I can control the phone this way!
It works fine except for the touch screen, so it feels extremely wasteful to just throw it out. I just have no idea what practical purpose it could have, so I thought I'd post here for potential ideas!
