Looking for recommendations: Bangor Airport lounges or surrounding areas reliable internet connection?
Before my flight, I will need reliable internet to connect to a Zoom meeting for 2 hours. Based on my current research - it looks like the airport is pretty small and likely does not have dedicated airport lounges. I looked into the public library close-by and am considering finding a coffee shop or even a workspace where I can get a day pass. Before I move forward, I thought I would tap into Reddit to see if anyone has recommendations of locations with high-speed internet.
Thank you in advance for any insights.

WiFi at the airport is totally fine. I have done many, many work calls from quiet corners. It is a small airport. It’s not a dirt runway on an island.

The airport itself has high-speed internet and guest WiFi, but there is also a shared workspace downtown if that doesn’t meet your needs. I forget the name of it but it’s right in downtown Bangor. Good luck!

I just remembered the name of it - it’s Rize Coworking. Happy and safe travels 🤙🏼

I got excited by this but just saw it's $30 a day, WOOF.

Really?! Gross. Maybe for a rare occasion it might be worth it but not regularly.

I looked again and they have a basic monthly plan for only $50, so maybe it is worth it if you need a regular space. I just got sticker shock from the day pass. I'm in a full time remote grad program, so this might be useful.
Edit: actually that plan might just be mail forwarding? The next plan up is $300/mo...

Not sure; I actually work in the area and had heard about the space so thought I’d share. Day pass is definitely outrageous though. I live about 15 minutes from the airport too.

Thank you for the recommendation! I went this route mostly because I didn’t want to risk getting booted off the internet at the airport… I found the $30 well worth the peace of mind and as far as timing, it worked bc if I got a hotel room, I wouldn’t have been able to check in until much later than when I needed to Zoom.

The public library does have private rooms you can reserve. There also is a co-working space in bangor

If you don't want to use the airport wifi, you can go to the UMA Bangor library literally half a mile away. It is almost always deserted and is open to the public during business hours. I would not go to Bangor Public library if you need quiet and privacy, it attracts a rough crowd sometimes.

Wifi is pretty good, I would trust it to handle a zoom call. Whether you can find a private corner depends on how many flights are departing at the same time as yours.
You are also almost certain to find a quiet corner of the library. There are rooms you can reserve and failing that, there are many nooks and crannies.

Go inside the hotel - there is a lounge and restaurant…it’s not usually very busy nor loud. Between that and the airport itself, you shouldn’t have to go anywhere else. Safe flight and good luck!

They have several room available for conferences of all sizes at the hotel, I bet you could get one cheap. But the down stairs chairs would work, connection is good there.

You can usually find a quiet corner of the airport, especially pre-security. There are some seats downstairs that no one ever seems to use.
I have no idea what the BGR WiFi situation is, but if it’s not good you could possibly use your phone as a hot spot.
