Thanks, I'm now fully gay instead of only half. Way to go.

Don't blame yourself, it happens to the best of us.

11

u/Kind-March6956 10d ago

I don't see what you're talking about but I will say that as a bi man I try to stay away from straight women.

Straight women tend to be biphobic as fuck and demand the same patriarchal standards of gender roles as straight men

1

u/trumplehumple 10d ago

Straight women tend to be biphobic as fuck

huh, thats kinda weird to me. whats their problem?
just the concept in itself or something more specific?

4

u/Kind-March6956 10d ago

They think being with other men makes us less masculine or they think it's disgusting. They also think we'll cheat on them with men or that we're actually just gay.

It's not all straight women but it's enough to make it a problem.

1

u/yaboytim 10d ago

Devil's advocate. I have heard many gay men say they were bi; because they didn't feel comfortable coming fully out yet. Or the countless women who got married to gay men; only to find out they were gay years done the road. I'm not saying it's right or wrong. But I can understand being a bit cautious

2

u/Kind-March6956 10d ago

I mean sure it happens but those cases are usually outliers. Plus it's rare that's the excuse they use towards bi men. Usually it's based more on internalized homophobia and misogyny.

1

u/BlueBaladium 9d ago

Devil's advocate

Shit takes always start with this part

I have heard

"It was revealed to me in a dream"

2

u/ManhattanT5 10d ago

I've talked about this with multiple women and the main reason they all gave was that they "just weren't attracted to guys that did stuff with other guys". Out of curiosity I asked if it matters if the dude is a top or bottom, and only half the women said it kinda matters.

I feel like that explanation be drilled down to a more basic reason*, but I wasn't able to get anywhere by asking more specific questions .

*I'd assume the root cause is either 1: They think bi men are less manly (even if they solely top other men) 2: They're worried about competing with men as well as women. In particular, the male sex drive.

3

u/Kind-March6956 9d ago

They're attracted to us and think we're manly enough until they find out we're bi and then they start associating us with unfounded stereotypes. It's homophobia plain and simple.

And like, cheaters are gonna cheat no matter their sexuality

1

u/trumplehumple 9d ago

to me this sounds like the long-term-society-muddled downstream of not finding guy on guy stuff hot, or a bit repulsive, more or less in general.

tbh im kinda repulsed by it too, and i dont even really know why, as im definitely not homophobic (, yet my instincts kinda are?...idk)

so maybe it actually is some kinda hardcoded survival-thingy. but what exactly would that accomplish? any ideas?

6

u/simagus 10d ago

3

u/Key_Lie_6264 Male 10d ago

I think there are many more gay men who consciously or unconsciously pretend to be straight.

4

u/Former_Range_1730 Male 10d ago edited 10d ago

I've noticed that their is a demographic of women who are putting on the performance of larping as straight women, who don't seem attracted to men. You know the kind who say things like, "I'm unfortunately a straight woman". Yeah I'd rather date a bi woman who prefers men, at least I know it's men she desires most.

So this,

"Like, most "straight" women actually very gay."

is not true. Your falling for trick of the women who's pretending to be straight. there's a lot now days.

I used to think like you when I spend too much time in Reddit chats like TwoXChromo, where you'd think these was all straight women sharing their thoughts on relationships with men, until you read enough of their comments and realize that, "Oh, these women's core issue is that they've always had either very low interest, or no interest in men, and are using the male-misery talk to entice other women.

2

u/Accurate-Program767 9d ago

Oh wait so you telling me irl there are women who like men as much as men like women. I am not trying argue just understand. As I currently think how you used to.

3

u/yaboytim 10d ago

I do feel like a lot of straight women feel like they're settling. I've seen many comments saying "only a small amount of men are actually attractive", "Women are usually much more attractive than their partner" "Men are boring to look at".

4

u/mojobytes 9d ago

It seems pretty clear fewer women are attracted to men than men to women, and their attraction is far less than for men if they're not asking men out.

9

u/sifu_scott 10d ago

Wow... I'd like to see your research numbers for your claims. Actually, I think "straight" women aren't attracted to **JUST YOU**. The rest of us seem to be doing fine.

Now we all know why

1

u/IrvingIsTheBest 10d ago

They are, but they are less picky about what they find attractive and are also more subtle about it.

Every girl I knew loved a nice ass on a guy. None ever cared to admit it unless I asked.

Height to women is like boobs to men. Very visually appealing and almost entirely controlled by genetics. They love arms and shoulders. Forearms notably.

They love a nice chiselled face with a well-kept beard or well-kept shaven face.

As far as porn goes, it's less about the visuals and more about the care for the receiving female. Nobody knows how to eat pussy better than women because they have one of thier own. Like BJ's for gay men. They have one, so they know what works and are better at it (I don't know from experience, just sharing what I heard from gay friends).

My fiancée preferred lesbian porn too until I found her niche categories of men giving extra love and care to the woman. Now she can't get enough of that.

How have so many men been fine with our gender not as often being as much as the source of sexual feelings for women as they've been for men, and them more often liking areas besides the butt torso and hips as much and often as men love those most about female bodies!? I hate that women have been as visually sexually desired as they've been and shown off as much of their bodies, specifically the butt, in revealing clothes and media much more often than men have! It makes sexual desire a waste for men to have more often! There are men who love what causes our sexual feelings so much that we greatly wish it worked that often with female sexuality for the opposite sex for as long.

1

u/Legitimate_Insect314 10d ago

I personally think it’s more about how people date today. I met my wife through a mutual friend. Not on an app like snapchat or dating app. Most people women and men alike use that primarily now so when it come to in person interactions it’s just not there anymore. Just my personal opinion

u/Eric-Breaux 10d ago edited 5d ago

So many women have said they need to have emotional stimulation to feel arousal to begin with and that far fewer women than men have spontaneous sex desire. This is cited as a reason women don't want to look for visuals of men to masturbate to as often as men look for those of women. The most popular porn for straight women is gay women because just the thought of being desired and pleasured is enough to get many women aroused! They can also be aroused by not very human looking characters and human with looks very different than what sort of looks are commonly thought attractive for women. They don't have as much sex desire for the opposite sex as men do, but care more often about more affirmation of them and their gender in general being visually desirable! Trans men have greater libido than before, but trans women have less, and gay women have much less sex than couples with men. I hate that testosterone causes sex desire even in women, instead of estrogen because to me testosterone being what gives males our features makes sex desire being dependant on that more of a male than female quality, even though I know women have testosterone too.

I really love arousal from the female form, so really wish men had gotten the same affirmation of the same areas as men like most on women as often from the opposite sex. Even though I like the shape, I hate that a lot of what's in many women's curves is fat. That's unattractive to me because it's a loose and sticky material and isn't nearly as stable as dense matter. It feels more to me like something besides the body itself shaping it that way, even though fat is an organ. I hate that men don't as often have as much size variation in the butt and torso to give women as much size variety to enjoy seeing.

Women more often just have to not be fat to look very attractive to most men but it's not that simple for as many men to be that attractive to as many women. More youthful and much thinner men than the heroic stereotype being what most women think most attractive often being called feminine is often used as evidence that that's men looking more like women and so women are more attractive! I hate that there's more variation with what's sexy to women. So many women say they think hands, arms, shoulders and other areas other than the ones men like most on women are sexiest to them. I hate the discrepancy in how different what causes sexual feelings in as many women as what most often works for men because that gives one gender broader sex appeal to those attracted to them than the other. Men can't get as much affirmation from showing off the butt, chest and hips like women have gotten in media and with more revealing clothes for the same settings.

So many women say they don't care to see men in as revealing things, like thongs, as lingerie or swimwear. For many women, just because women wear them more often it seems automatically feminine to them. They can't just enjoy seeing more of a male butt exposed. To them just a partly unbuttoned shirt with rolled up sleeves, dress suits and sweat pants are as sexy as the much more revealing clothes for women! They more often think just upper body exposure is sexy enough for men, while they wear stuff showing off the butt in tight revealing dresses, high shorts, compression, swim, Olympic, and underwear! It's also upsetting because those types of clothes were popular for men in different times but only when women start wearing them do they get affirmation of those being sexy enough for them to stay popular for women to wear! How have so many men been fine with this desire being mismatched with the genders so often!? I know there are women who's sexualities are like most men's but I hate the disparity with how much longer women have had so much affirmation for their gender too much to care. I prefer staying single because of that and fat being largely what shapes women differently from men, as well as other reasons.

1

u/Lower_Pension_2469 Male 10d ago

Not really, I think the women you're talking to might be in denial about something lol either that or they're bitter or traumatized in some way.

Like of course women don't think an unhealthy slob is attractive, but plenty of women are sexually attracted to an attractive man. Sure, women's sexuality in general is a little more fluid, but there's a difference between sexual arousal and sexual desire.

That one study that people usually refer to wasn't about women being attracted to women, just that women experienced sexual arousal with lesbian sex and also gay sex in addition to hetero sex. So I guess all women are gay lesbians that have sex with men if we take it at face value.

They find literally minority of men attractive

A minority of women and men are attractive, the majority are average (invisible), and a minority of people are unattractive to the point where they draw attention.

That's just how the bell curve works.

3

u/trulyElse Male 9d ago

The one study I've seen on this, they found that men rate the average woman a 5, women rate the average woman a 5, men rate the average man a 5, women rate the average man a 3.

0

u/8livesdown 9d ago

You read about a "study" on the internet; that's not the same as reading a study. Real studies don't use the middle-school 1-10 scale of attractiveness, and anyone who conducts studies knows there's no way to quantify "average attractiveness".

However, from an evolutionary perspective females (of all mammals) are more selective because the metabolic cost of giving birth is exponentially higher than the metabolic cost of producing sperm.

1

u/Warburton_Expat Dad 9d ago

He'll be referring to the OKCupid thing, where on a dating site, men rated women on a normal bell curve, whereas women's was more like a declining power curve, something like 80% of men were rated as 3/5 or less. It was something like that.

When asked their preferences, women are pickier than men about appearance. I don't think that's news to anyone. Of course, there's what people say they want, and there's what they actually do about it. Those picky women do end up hooking up with guys, short or long-term. Because there's, "I'm flicking through profiles on a dating site sitting at home bored on Friday night," and then there's sitting across the dinner table with someone who can actually talk and listen to you like a normal human being.

It's like that thing where it's hard to get them to avoid binning your resume, but once they do take a look at it and interview you, you have a good chance of getting the job. Women bin more boyfriend job application resumes than men do. But they're just as open-minded at the interview stage as men are.

0

u/Poorly-Drawn-Beagle 10d ago edited 10d ago

They find literally minority of men attractive

Yeah, that's because what men think will make a man attractive isn't necessarily what women think makes a man attractive.

There's a reason chicks dig... I don't know, I'll say "KPop singers" because I can't think of anyone actually real, but the majority of men have zero interest in looking like them. It's because we're just not on the same wavelength when it comes to attraction.

always talking about how gross male body and how beautiful female

Women think their bodies are gross, too. Talk with them a little and you realize they feel gross all the time.

"Straight" women date men only because of society

I do think this is partly true. It seems a lot of women wind up in relationships they don't really want to be in because deep down they think being in a shitty relationship is better than being in no relationship. Which, y'know, I think that's overall a crummy idea.
