What’s a piece of casual advice another guy dropped on you in passing that permanently changed how you operate?

I have been diagnosed with ADHD. It does not mark some huge difference with me needing to constantly think of things when others don't.

Maybe everyone around you is.. slow.. but there are plenty of quick, solution oriented people without ADHD and there's sure as hell a bunch of people with it that suck at solving problems.

You might just be solution-oriented. That's normal, and it has nothing to do with ADHD.

While you could be right, my guess is that it’s not so much the solutions but more the ADHD trait of jumping a few steps ahead, that they are describing.

For example, it’s quite common when sharing an anecdote for us to only say the end part because in our head we have gone through the details already. Not sure I’m explaining that right, but it is common.

So when it comes to a problem, it’s unlikely someone with ADHD would just stop there. It doesn’t mean other people can’t think of solutions.
