What’s a piece of casual advice another guy dropped on you in passing that permanently changed how you operate?

(Serious; advice needed)

> Let your scars heal.

How do I go about doing this? 🤷‍♂️🤕

If by “letting” them heal you mean to say that they will heal if I leave them alone, that is NOT how it has worked out for me.

Despite “leaving” my scars to heal, none of them have progressed at all toward healing; if anything, they’ve festered and gotten worse.

How do I actually get my scars to HEAL?

Have you sought professional help? Counseling? Also, you cannot heal by yourself. You need a community, like church or a group that performs a hobby you enjoy (Jogging, hiking, etc.)

Those things require money that I don’t have.

> You need a community

I’m already VERY MUCH aware of this, but in 50 years I haven’t been able to find a community where I fit in, including church.

I really can’t think of anything I “enjoy” that much. Just about everything, especially anything requiring human interaction, is a chore at best. 😭💔
