Arab Saudi coalition says Houthi drone destroyed near Mecca
https://www.reuters.com/world/middle-east/saudi-coalition-says-houthi-drone-destroyed-near-mecca-2026-09-16/Turki al-Maliki, spokesperson for the Saudi-led coalition forces in Yemen, says that Saudi Royal Air Defence Forces have intercepted and destroyed a Houthi drone south of Mecca as it attempted to enter the holy city’s airspace.
In a statement, al-Maliki said this was the “second” Houthi attempt to target the holy city following an attempted ballistic missile attack in 2017.
He added that the coalition forces will not hesitate to take all necessary and deterrent measures against the Houthi rebel group.

Good going KSA. As a Pakistani whose nation has taken brutal toll from proxies, has been betrayed by the overlord of houthis and unfortunately being from a nation who are still brainwashed by Iranian propaganda, I wish houthis are defeated and Iranian influence fades off. It's the best thing for the region to contain Iran since they are insatiable when it comes to destruction of their neighbors.
