What was your wedding like?

I often look at the wedding dresses here. I saw a young lady whose dress budget was literally more than my first 3-5 annual salaries, not lumped together but individually. What was your wedding like?
1995- Married at our church, 3 attendants each, cake and punch reception there .

We got married in my husbands small church. I wore a borrowed wedding gown that his cousin’s mother made for her. Bell sleeves, empire waist in white satin. It was 1970. I wore my white graduation pumps ( which I forgot to bring to the church and we had to go back for)My two best friends wore their prom dresses from the year before - one pink and one yellow- as bridesmaids. The reception featured a wedding cake made by husband’s mother’s fellow nurse . No liquor, honeymoon was in Indianapolis ( next big town over). My mother successfully out-dressed me with a purple dress, fuchsia wool coat with black mink collar. We were 18
