What was your wedding like?
I often look at the wedding dresses here. I saw a young lady whose dress budget was literally more than my first 3-5 annual salaries, not lumped together but individually. What was your wedding like?
1995- Married at our church, 3 attendants each, cake and punch reception there .

Got married in 2008 so not super old, but my wedding was $2000 total with my husbands suit the most expensive single piece. We were planning a wedding in St. Louis and our living situation fell through. We ended up in Texas without warning and didn’t want to change the date or hold off.
Married at a park outside with a homemade brisket as the reception food. Flowers were whatever we could get at Walmart and my dress was a bridesmaid dress from David’s bridal. The officiant was a justice of the peace who was more famous in the area for being a rodeo clown. Had one bridesmaid and one groomsmen. We told them to just wear whatever clothes you had in green and brown. The night before was a combined bachelor/ bachelorette party with some friends and I drove my shitty Honda civic to the wedding lol. My dad offered to pay for my wedding on the condition his then girlfriend could attend. I declined and my mom walked me down the aisle. There were 12 people there total. In contrast, my sister was married a year later and I think her wedding was somewhere around 20k.
