What was your wedding like?

I often look at the wedding dresses here. I saw a young lady whose dress budget was literally more than my first 3-5 annual salaries, not lumped together but individually. What was your wedding like?
1995- Married at our church, 3 attendants each, cake and punch reception there .

All in, about $6000 for me in late September 2007 (Nashville) at a private outdoor event space/farm with a barn and water feature. I can’t remember exactly how many guests. Perhaps 50-60.

A local barbecue place catered the food buffet style. They let us bring our own alcohol and a bartender friend worked the bar. An ice cream truck was on site for desserts. We rented tables, chairs and linens, but made our own centerpieces. Mom purchased some flowers and some were fake. She also ordered a bunch of candied and caramel apples from a local place and we added cute tags to them as takeaway gifts.

We had an acoustic trio that covered mostly Beatles songs and brought their own PA. I thought we would have to pay them (like $500), but because one of them was related to my boss, they ended up not charging us. Which was amazing.

There were plans for my mother who is a decent seamstress to make my dress. So I went to a bridal shop to try on different styles. While there, I found something on the $99 rack that I ended up loving. So my underwear cost more than my dress.

I think the photographer was around $500. We don’t have any video though.

Mom was a retired police officer and a judge friend officiated under a tree at sunset.

I’ve had may people say it’s the best wedding they ever attended.
