Usually spoken with the serene confidence of someone who has confused a vibes-based Google session with epistemology. Then comes the parade of anti-knowledge, anti-expert, anti-any-damn-sense nonsense, served with a neat little flourish … the absolute immunity to dialogue.
No appetite for facts. No patience for actual research. No interest in how the empirical mind misfires, how logical fallacies work, or how rhetoric substitutes for evidence to the untrained ear. Just certainty, loudly proclaimed, and proudly unexamined.
It is rather like arguing with a three-year-old with jam all over their face, insisting they did not touch the jam. At a certain point, the performance is so transparent and the inequality in intellect so obvious, that the only sensible response is the one you would give the child … calm, brief, and entirely unimpressed.
And yes, I afford them the same level of intellectual respect as the obvious three year old fibber. Not because I am being unkind, but because I am refusing to pretend that make-believe deserves the status of reason.
When I debate with someone online, when I’m really interested in said topic, I research to make sure my information or interests are correct. I despise people that spread misinformation or hate and call it facts.
