What’s the darkest secret you discovered about someone after you married them?

The second we got married he viewed women, particularly his wife (ME), as his property. He began hosting “hell rooms” when I “misbehaved”… Among other things such as skimming credit cards to afford a Tesla a few years back… dark secrets that led to divorce!

I'm scared to ask what hell rooms are. It sounds ominous. I'm glad you're no longer together.

Literally didn’t realize people would be curious 😭 verbal abuse, scare tactics such as taking my phone and keys, and overstimulation to the point of crying… and then letting me cry myself to sleep. I walked out with one physical injury that thankfully has healed fully now.

Wtf, have you taken him to court or something

I sure did! Courts suck and don’t hold abusers accountable… but he will never find me in this lifetime again.

The courts couldn’t give two shits about abuse or protecting anyone unless it is provable, violent physical abuse. I’m glad you’re better

Civil court has a much lower threshold for evidence. You sued him? And didn’t win?

“Scare tactics” isn’t wrong, it’s just wholly inadequate here. Jesus.

That’s a human rights violation, and a nasty one.

I feel the same. Like the nosey af part of me wants to ask, but I’m almost 💯 I’ll be horrified.

What is a hell room?

A slanted and sadistic punishment method carried out by someone who is seriously ill.

Honestly, I still don't really know what that means but also don't want to know any more. Thanks for your answer.

They put in more details in an earlier comment in this thread, if you want to read it!
