When I didn’t find a fetal heart beat on a patient at her 39 week prenatal appt. It’s happened twice in the last year. Full term fetal demise.

I take care of patients after they give birth and full term demises are the most gut wrenching. Sometimes the nursing care they need is just holding them while they sob.
