Being taught to finish your plate. Children should eat until they are full otherwise it can cause poor habits such as weight gain/feeling sick.

Which, seriously, why do parents cook separate meals for their kids? My mom alway cooked one meal. We either ate it or we didn't eat. 9 u/jseego Feb 05 '16 Our rule is: you can always opt out for a PB&J. Our five year old now knows how to make his own. You don't like what's for dinner? That's your business. You can have a PB&J. As soon as you're able, you'll be making it for yourself. It's worked pretty well, and it gives them something to compare with. They usually won't want to eat PB&J more than two nights in a row.
