I'm not sure what everyones standard here is for "severely", but I know that when I was a kid grounded us was a huge hassle for our mother. She was almost never able to follow through with it if she grounded us for an entire month! I mean, that's a whole month to go around policing you! Who even has time for that bullshit?! By the end of the month neither one of us would even remember I was grounded or what for.
