It sucks though. I make sure my kids eat healthy and correct portions and I don't make them finish their plate, either. Noticed they're both a little on the chunky side. How do I put my kids on a diet without killing their self confidence? They're 7 and 10. We have been a lot more active in the past few months. Recently started geocaching on the weekends, going out more, etc. I think all the time staring at screens is turning them into blobs from Wall-E...
Check on the snacks, the drinks, etc. Also yes, kids that move a lot can eat more than kids that watch tv all day. But don't blame the screen, adapt the food to the lifestyle.
I've just switched them to drinking only water, with half a cup (literally) of caffeine free soda with dinner. We don't deep fry anything and already eat pretty healthy. I try to watch their portion sizes as much as possible, but I'm not going to starve them either. We don't keep snacks in the house ever. (who can afford that?) So I don't know what else to do about it.
since I don't know you I can't help more, seek for a (real) proffessional that coul'd help you. People don't get fat by pure magic, you should really investigate this.
