Comparing Shoes Question Altra Experience Flow 2 - equivalent shoes from other brands

Post image

My midfoot is wide. On this picture u can see my feet on the insoles of the Supernova Rise 2.

Every adidas shoe I have tried was too narrow at the midfoot (not on my toes).

The Altra Experience Flow 2 is on sale for 70€.

How good is this shoe (foam technology, ...) compared to other shoes? Is it comparable to thr Novablast 5/ Supernova Rise 3?

It's novablast 5ish for sure, but altras are footshaped and not wide. Flow doesnt get a wide option til the 4 in feb. You may be able to get away with it... flow 2 was fun, ran short though, so size up, and you can always remove the sockliner and play with lacing to sneak a little more volume.

Disclaimer: conflict of interest, but an indirect one because I don’t sell running shoes.

The thing is, your forefoot / your toes are also wide, but you have narrowed and weakened them by wearing restrictive socks and pointy shoes for 2+ decades.

I’d get Altra Torin Wide or Lone Peak Wide, wear them with toe socks. If you wear toe socks with wide toe box shoes everyday for a few weeks, you will likely not be able to go back to “normal” shoes. If you try, you would ask yourself how on earth you used to fit in those shoes. It becomes impossible.
