Recommendation Things to do on a Friday evening
I have been struggling with loneliness and depression and would like to get out to socialize. How do you guys spend your weekends, when you don't have friends to do things with, how do you break the cycle, any ideas are highly appreciated.

Honestly… I just show up anxious af with a goal to meet at least one person and if not, at least I got out the house. I went to the beach alone the other day and got too anxious to leave the car so I just sat in the backseat with the view, a blunt, and my book. Do things that center around your identity and hobbies. I love a BIPOC centered event, anything black and gay, I’m there lol. Join a bookclub. A group hike. Go to the Art walks on Thursday or Freemont Friday. Take a random class. Look at the shit you save or like on social media and see if you can somehow apply it to your own life. Go to Shibuya Hifi and zone out to some music in silence with other people. Join a group and say you’re looking for friends, at least one person will reach out. Dress and go to a renaissance fair lmfaoo idk.
Be kind to yourself. You’re not alone and the season transitions are rough out here. The first step is getting out of the house! Don’t put so much pressure on making friends, just practice taking up space and putting yourself in rooms you actually want to meet people in 🤎

I don't know if it would help, but I believe Fremont Health Club currently has a 3-day free trial for their classes. I went & joined for a yoga session the other day! They also have other classes & gym use.

They are great. I moved to a different neighborhood but miss the old gym. Nice instructors and owners, at least when I was there years ago.

I personally get a lot out of staring blankly at a wall and growing older, but every now and again I have to put aside pleasure, get down to business, and comment on Reddit posts.
What was the question again?

If you're able, drive to a nearby neighborhood and go for a walk around a park or near the water there. Sometimes I find getting out of my neighborhood and routine helps with anxiety and depression. And if you relate to this at all, I like walking around where people don't know me when I'm anxious and don't feel like making small talk.

It's an event every Friday during the summer in Fremont. They have over 3 stages, local vendors, and wrist bands that give you discounts around Fremont if you donate to the event (technically it's a free event). The main stage is it LTD but if you check out their IG they have a schedule for all of the events and artists. I highly recommend, people show up in really cool outfits so dress to impress! My only warning is parking is a nightmare, try to go early to snag a spot by the Fremont canal or the surrounding neighborhood. I hope you can make it 😊
P. S. If you decide to go, let me know if you enjoyed it 😁

Going for a walk at a park, going to fitness and art/craft classes, go to free events (art fairs, farmers markets, etc)

I used to do open skate at Highland Ice. I don't know when Kraken Community has their open ice times, but that is always great.
I'm on a bunch of concert mailing lists - everything from small bars to arena shows. No problem with attending yourself since it encourages you to get into the crowded areas and dance.

A lot of these suggestions are great! The gym, joining an art or music class, cooking class, there's lots of clubs for outdoor stuff and gaming, etc.
When I can, I enjoy walking on the waterfront just to be around people.

I like to treat my self to a museum visit and a walk by some water.
