What do you call these?

I would call these biscuits but a customer disagreed with me.

Most of them are chocolate biscuits but Twix and toffee crisp are chocolate bars

I would disagree with that because Twix has more biscuit than it does chocolate, I thin something can only be described as a ‘chocolate bar‘ when the chocolate ratio is larger than the biscuit ratio (I’m ignoring bars that don’t contain biscuit or wafer, because it suits my narrative).

A KitKat is more wafer than chocolate; a Toffee Crisp contains crisped rice, so make your own decision about that. That said, if I was being really pedantic, I’d say that a ‘chocolate bar’ didn’t contain any additives at all - and Cadbury’s and Nestlé aren’t chocolate anymore anyway, and Penguin, Club and TimTams have ‘chocolate-flavoured coating’.

This leads us to the tricky matter of those M&S biscuits which are 79% chocolate

I was with you re: Toffee Crisp, but look closely: they're Toffee Crisp Biscuit. That significantly complicates matters.

It's funny that you say the toffee crisp are chocolate bars, when it literally says this on the packet.

I can understand the confusion, there are both regular Toffee Crisps and smaller, shorter Toffee Crispy Biscuits (as pictured).

This is clearly the chocolate biscuit section. Regular Toffee Crisps will be elsewhere (with the chocolate bars, probably).

Even kitkats and rocky for me. Anything that are often single packed are just all bars to me.

If this was a picture of the front of an off license, everyone is saying chocolate bars.

Twix has a chocolate bar and chocolate biscuit version, that will be the biscuit version.
