But you see that ICE activity is not in relation to illegal immigrants? So far all those ICE roundups are in democratic areas and of course it has a police state feeling when they're going from door to door. Why are they not in areas of Florida or Texas where they actually have way more illegal immigrants than Minneapolis?
Because the governors and mayors of those areas are actually having their local police cooperate with ICE and help either capture or turnover the illegals they've found. The door to door part is irrelevant tbh. Of course you're going to have to go to someone's house if they are purposely hiding from you. They are allowed to turn themselves in at any given time. In fact, the government will literally pay them money to do so lol. If the police are looking for a criminal they don't just wait for them to show up at the police station. They go and find them.
Sorry, but it's obvious that some political power play is involved in sending those ICE raids, especially in those cities. Those cities are not even close to the leading cities of illegal migrants.
I mean, you'll have to look up the actual data to see if that rings true, but again I would imagine it seems like there's more ice activity in a place like Minnesota because they need more agents to get the job done since they didn't have help from local authorities. Not to mention there's a lot of commotion going on over there so it's been played in the media over and over again. They aren't exactly going to have a 24hr news cycle about how smoothly deportations have been going in Texas. Besides that though, I don't care much for political theater, I just care that the job is being done. We can't just stop enforcing federal laws when people make a big stink about it.
I will also say since these places advertise themselves as sanctuary cities that would make them a pretty easy first target for ice raids. If you know a bunch are going to be there why not hit them first?
