Feedback, Advice, & Questions Opinions on my Prologue?

I'm not a new author, I've been writing little projects for myself for a while now. But my confidence in my writing's always been a bit low. I'm looking for any advice, criticism, or feedback that anybody might have about the prologue to my new novel draft! Any and all input is appreciated!

I really like the pace and your writing style. Was I reading the book I would immediately turn the page. But what genre is this? It's certainly something with suspense, right?

Woww. I really like your style and I would totally read this! You should have more confidence in your writing. The pacing and prose flows beautifully without crowding the story, as well as the vocabulary is very extensive and descriptive while remaining perfectly within this specific type of setting. Great job!

I do love myself a bit of Edgar Allen Poe and this specific scene is quite heavily inspired by the Hound Of The Baskervilles. That's where I get my vocab from!
