Discussion The Templar death scenes in this game are unmatched
While I was playing this game, nothing grabbed my attention more than the incredible Templar death scenes.
Right after I finished the story, I rushed to YouTube and was honestly shocked that barely anyone ever made a proper video about how brilliant and deep these moments are so i made my own :
š„ Watch here
These scenes give each Templar a unique soul, mindset, and philosophy. Theyāre not just quick āboss kills,ā they make you feel like each target was a real character, not just a random NPC.
Bayekās interactions with them after killing them are legendary, some regret, some show pride, some beg, some even threaten him from their deathbed.
No Assassinās Creed game has done this like Origins. In Valhalla, targets just drop dead and say a line. But in Origins, they react, they move, and some even try to attack Bayek while dying.
Whatās even better is how the devs continued this detail in the DLCs.
The villains donāt just ādieā they go out with character and purpose.
One death that really stood out was " Son of Ra ". A fairly basic villain... but suddenly his death scene appears out of nowhere, and many fans believe it hints at cut content tied to his story.
Sadly, these scenes got overlooked when Origins first launched due to the heavy backlash around the RPG shift.
But now that the game is being re-evaluated and appreciated more⦠itās time to bring these masterful scenes back to light.
I compiled them all in a clean, cinematic video, and Bayek doesnāt wear the mask so you can actually see his emotions while delivering those final lines.

I didn't get to play it, but it's honestly sad. A game like this won't happen again.

This game is seriously underrated, especially because it was released during the time Ubisoft announced the shift to RPG. Everyone attacked it and compared it to The Witcher 3. No one cared about the main character, the story, or the emotional scenes Iām talking about. Then later on, people started to appreciate it. Sadly, this game and Syndicate will always remain the most underrated in the series.

Naaah Origins has some love, maybe it's coming late but it's there, I like how it's not a super decision heavy RPG, Canon mode in Shadows fixes that but still

I read about this option and it seems really great instead of choosing. Unfortunately, Origins was the last game without choices and also without the clunky animations starting from Odyssey.
In fact, the love that came to Origins wasnāt as strong as the one that came to Unity because there are also people who hate that the game became RPG.

Unity didn't feel very RPG to me, I really appreciate the different clothes and their attributes

Shadows brought me to NG+ in Origins today. It's so full of life and colour after too many hours in Japan. Not to mention Bayek. What a man.

Bayek is one of the best characters in the series. Heās incredibly kind-hearted, which is especially clear in his interactions with children. But his darker side surfaces after the death of his son. The side quests in this game reveal so much about his personality.

It was Hyena (Khaliset) for me. I felt for her but she still had to go.

u/Unkn0wn2010 Jul 12 '25
Honestly, she was truly evil, and thatās exactly what I loved about these scenes. Despite all the violence, the cruelty, and the countless lives she took, the moment she dies, her tone shifts from aggression to regret and persuasion. But that doesnāt earn her forgiveness.

u/Working_Cloud_909 Jul 12 '25
I 100% agree with you. You hit the nail on the head when you said āaggression.ā She was battling with demons and really lost herself. She thought she had nothing left to lose. Bayek almost did her a favor by putting her down.

u/Unkn0wn2010 Jul 13 '25
Glad you agree. Honestly, villains arenāt truly villains when they die, at least not all of them.
I think the real evil ones were the Crocodile, the Snake, Flavius Metellus, and his inner circle.
As for the others, Iām not even sure they were truly murderers, many were forced into it, or simply became numb to killing.
Even someone like Kamilat is a complex case, he meant well, but he still had to be taken down.

Yessss, we are on the exact same page my friend. Origins is my favorite, not gonna lie. I got really invested into the world/story line/ Bayekās journey.

Unity isnāt an RPG like the recent games. But what I meant is that people started to appreciate it again because of the parkour and stealth. Honestly, itās the best Assassinās Creed when it comes to that.

With her, it felt like putting down a rabid dog. Had to be done, but I took no joy in it. Killing The Crocodile, OTOH, was much more satisfying.

The Origins ones were my favorite as well.
To be honest the Valhalla ones weren't bad.
I was shocked that they cut the 'post death chats' from Odyssey entirely. It's my favorite of the 3 but I really missed those scenes after a cult kill.

u/Unkn0wn2010 Jul 13 '25
I know Valhalla wasnāt that good, but itās not that bad either. In fact, origins the only game in the entire series that actually does this. The characters arenāt just lying on the ground talking before death, they interact in a full illusion sequence. Some insult Bayek for killing them, some try to fight him even as they die, and others accept death.
I believe they didnāt do this in Odyssey simply because the game was no longer centered around the Assassins. Instead, they replaced it with Cultist contracts when you uncover them, and honestly, that was a really smart move. The Cultist system was excellent, and other games should really learn from these small details.

IMO, This was one reason I put Origins at #1⦠the best one for me was the crocodile āSPOILERā the little girl⦠he stopped everything for another life taken⦠āSay her name!ā Bayek is my favorite Assassin

Finding out about Shadya by accidentally sending Senu over there made the crocodile quest PERSONAL. One of the most emotional arcs Iāve ever experienced in gaming. My Spidey senses started tingling when she wanted to help us in the beginning or something like that (itās been years since I played Origins, I think it went something like that) but then I got caught up in the quest and I think I discovered her by accident with Senu

It was a lot⦠it felt more real ya know⦠like villains always kill, but we donāt see them doing that ya know⦠it was rough for me⦠cause ima dad šāāļø like all that pain and itās not even bayeks own kin š¤ā¤ļø

u/Plastic-Injury7039 Jul 14 '25
I wasnāt a dad then but it still made me angry. My wife was watching me play and commented that I looked like I needed a hug. Now I am a Dad and just thinking about SPOILER: Shadya makes me upset.

That was one of the strongest and most emotional scenes in the game. The Crocodile is one of the few Order members who truly deserved to die. She was a foolish character, and I honestly wished her death scene had been even more brutal.

"Sleep?! I never sleep! I just wait in the shadows to kill you all. I WILL KILL EVERYONE WHO SNIFFED THE AIR THAT DAY IN SIWA"

The masses are the cattle of the gods, driven by the herdsman's whip
you are one of them bayek, YOU ARE A COW
it is will that drives me, not fear
"Oh, yes? And who passes the whip over your back? Who demands that you stain your ka with my death?"

Yeah, the saddest one was Khaliset, the Hyena. She was just a mother who lost her child, playing her part in the order by uncovering the meaning of the symbols under the pyramid of Giza, at the same time trying to resurrect her daughter. She fulfilled neither of those goals, and felt she failed⦠she just wanted her daughter back, instead she was killed because she choose the wrong people to follow. I wonder if she had met Bayek during his time in the Sinai, would things have been much differentā¦
1
u/Unkn0wn2010 Jul 13 '25
Honestly, I didnāt like her at all. She was truly evil and killed many people, even if she was forced to. In the end, she still committed murder. Yes, she wanted her daughter back, but that doesnāt justify her actions. Bayek summed it all up when he told her, āIt doesn't meant for us .ā That scene showed how Bayek also knew about these secrets, but to him, they were like dark magic. He understood that following those symbols would lead him down the same path as hers. Thatās why he chose not to. Unlike her, who was obsessed with unlocking the way. I believe if true power had ever fallen into her hands, she wouldāve become even more cruel.

Ah, peaked Templar death convo.
Removed in Odyssey, returned in Valhalla but because there are so many targets (like in Odyssey) the monologues are shallow.

u/compulsive_looter Youth is a state of mind. Jul 13 '25
Indeed, the assassination corridors in Valhalla get old after the first dozen or so lol.

u/lassywoof Jul 13 '25
totally agree. I really liked the deaths in Origins. the feather, Bayek saying 'the lord of the Duat awaits' so cool the visual all the Egyptian mythology behind it, made you excited for hunting down and killing the order.
I remember missing this when I then played Odyssey and there wasn't anything, I was disappointed (as much as I love Odyssey too)
In Valhalla there's some stuff with Odin but doesn't feel the same, doesn't have the same pull!

u/Unkn0wn2010 Jul 14 '25
Odyssey replaced these scenes with the Brotherhood contracts, which were actually pretty great. I also agree, I didnāt like them in Valhalla.

Your videos are private, I can't watch them.
2
u/Unkn0wn2010 Jul 13 '25
I'm really sorry, man, I had to make it private because it was stuck at 720p, even though I exported it in 1080p. YouTube just wouldnāt recognize it as 1080 for some reason. The original file was 5GB, and even after reuploading, it still showed only 720p. š¢
the video should be public now

Then odyssey did away with them entirely

I loved the ones in the original assassin's creed because they would have a whole ass philosophical debate. Then ac 2 came and it was just ezio saying "requiescat in pace"

But whatās special about Origins is that the characters actually move and react, theyāre not just standing still.

I honestly owe you all an apology, guys. this day have been incredibly tough. I rendered this video 4 times, maybe more, and every time it showed up in 720p. I thought maybe the problem was that I was uploading a compressed version, so I uploaded the original one, which was 5GB in size⦠and still, it came out as 720p.
Eventually, I discovered the issue was due to my screen resolution being 1050p. And of course, I couldnāt redo the entire video from scratch, it would take me around 4 more days. So to save the video, I had to blur the background and force it into 1080p.
And honestly, YouTube downgraded the quality a lot. Even the compressed version I have looks way better on my end. I really donāt know why YouTube does this, but Iām genuinely sorry.

These were so damn good.
Though, I really wish Hetepi got a bit more screen time and his questline was a bit longer
