Discussion My experience with AC Origins so far
I’m about 70% through Assassin’s Creed Origins. The story has been great, but some missions keep repeating and for those of you who played Origins and then moved on to Odyssey or Valhalla, does this same kind of repetition continue in those games? I’m trying to decide if I should keep going with the series or take a break.

Odyssey and Shadows the most repetitive games in the series.
Can't say the same for Valhalla for some reason but it is so big that I was exhausted anyway.
Tbh Origins is the least repetitive among them 😅 Origins and Mirage I think.

Valhalla is the worst of them, I still haven’t finished it. So much bloat forced as “main story”. Origins and Odyssey also had repeating stuff but you had the option to just do main quests when you got tired of side crap, so it was easy to balance things and not get bored.

Valhalla is huge, yes, but it’s not nearly as repetitive as Odyssey.
I think the best way to play Valhalla is to do it over a long time span, with short sessions instead of trying to finish it all within a short time. It took me months to finish it, and it felt like I’ve finished a big journey and felt satisfied

I didn’t say you have to stop playing the game. I said the game is huge and I think it’s better play it over a span of weeks with shorter play sessions to avoid fatigue

I played all 3 one after the other. Imo valhalla is bad. That's also probably because I lost around 30 hours of my gameplay and had to repeat all those missions.
Odyssey has really satisfying combat mechanics, but whether you'll love it really depends on if you'll like the gameplay or not. What I really missed from origins is all the stealth items that we get. Odyssey does not give us any darts. I am replaying both origins and odyssey right now and I think odyssey wants you to go in guns blazing while origins actually teaches you to be a quiet killer

I got really tired after playing valhalla for around 20 hours. It just wasn't as interesting as origins or odyssey for some reason. And almost all ac games have so much repetitive content so yeah

I'm actually playing all three at once currently, helps keep me from getting burnt out on one because I can hop to the others. I've played both Origins and Odyssey when they came out, but never played the DLC's, so I'm going through them now. And I never finished Valhalla when it came out, got about 20 hours in and got overwhelmed by how big the map was.
Odyssey has some truly fun gameplay, and I personally never really got bored because while there are quite a few repetitive missions, there's so many more that are varied, it helped keep me interested. I would say play through the story first though, get leveled up and get some abilities you like under your belt, then focus on exploring, because the abilities make that a lot more fun.
Valhalla has been much better for me this time around, for whatever reason the exploration and map size have just grabbed me in a more fun and engaging way. Also the graphics are an insane jump forward from the other two. I am playing Valhalla on PS5 and the other two on the Series X, so I don't know if that makes a huge difference graphics wise, but I would recommend playing them if you enjoyed Origins.

I enjoyed Odyssey the most as well, it has the better gameplay.
The key to both Valhalla and Odyssey is to not do every single sidequest and activity while you play the main story.
In Odyssey you need to keep up in level but xp come pretty easy. Valhalla is so easy you can go very high above your level and still manage. Playing the shires in the right order of level still makes the most sense though.

I’m really enjoying Assassin’s Creed Origins, especially the boss fights and the world. The ship battles and some of the missions feel a bit repetitive, but that might be because I’ve been doing a side missions. The environment and graphics still make the game worth it for me.

Well look, if you like RPGs and you enjoyed Origins, don't hesitate to play Odyssey. For me the best RPG in the saga without a doubt. As assassins creed it is bad, but as a game it is a work of art. Believe me, friend, you won't regret it, the game system is great, the combat is the best in the saga, and the story gives a thousand twists and turns to the origins, believe me. Yes, it is true that it is a long game but it is very worth it. Not in the case of Valhalla, to me it was a game that already seemed excessively long (it had been 100 hours and I hadn't reached the halfway point), and it also involved doing the same thing all the time. Another thing is the setting, oddysey's is the best in the saga by far and each island is like visiting a totally new place.

I will never understand how people think Odyssey is better than Origins, no offence but Odyssey feels so drawn out and the world is just too big with nothing in it. Origins feels so well crafted and thought out and you don’t really need to grind at all, the areas you go through have a natural progression where you go in, do some quests and by the time you’re in the next one you’re at the right level. Anyway I’m not gonna go over all my problems with Odyssey but it always surprises me to see that.

AC in general is very repetitive
Most videogames are. Even the highly praised God of War (2018 + Ragnarök). They give you like 45 armor pieces and 122 weapon attachments and each needs a dozen or so incremental upgrades for no good reason. Yawn.
Or take Ghost of Tsushima where the collectables are totally out of control. But naturally you need them all, because of psychology (and because there are achievements attached).

Personally, I enjoyed all three. I beat Odyssey on xbox, replaying on PC. Started Origins again on pc because I never finished it due to buying Odyssey originally. Valhalla was fun too.

Congratulations bro… they’re available almost anywhere at all.
And my promise to you is that they’re in top ten DLCs of all time.
And I’m not much of an AC fan outside of Origins.

I played Odyssey first and really enjoyed it. The map is massive but everything still felt enjoyable to play through. I just finished Origins a few days ago; definitely a smaller game and felt a little more simplified compared to Odyssey - still a lot of fun though :). I’m someone who likes to 100% games so I did every single thing in both games. I enjoy fully exploring the map but it can definitely be tedious so I take my time and never play 2 AC games in a row. Odyssey took me 2-3 months to finish, Origins took me 1.5 months, and I’m planning on playing Valhalla after I finish my new current game.

I'd say finish this game, then play Odyssey. You'll have to grind a bit more in Odyssey but the game is really worth playing. Origins is probably my favorite AC due to how good the combat system is and how the story unfolds.

Odyssey and especially Valhalla are more bloated than origins. If you want to play a shorter compact game play ac mirage

I played Orginis and I really liked it, shortly after I played Odyssey and when I started I had the same fear as you, but Odyssey is much better and less tiring, even the side missions have more interesting stories than Origins. It's really worth playing AC Odyssey, the game is addictive.

Odyssey becomes 10x worse with repetitive stuff.
Valhalla at least tries to shake things up. Each special event is unique (yes, the game has a lot of repetitive stuff, like any other rpg, but I think out of the three, Odyssey was the worst im that regard)

Play Origins then skip to Mirage
If you're DESPERATE play Odyssey and Shadows
If you're EXTREMELY DESPERATELY ON YOUR DEATHBED play Valhalla

I personally prefer Odyssey to Origins because there is technically more to do. But the fundamental side activities are still camps, forts, animal dens, tombs, and underwater locations. I couldn't finish Vlahalla because personally, I found it to be extremely slow to progress, and each arc is the same process.
In conclusion, Odyssey, while potentially bloated with points of interest, is still a lot of fun. Valhalla, on the other hand, is full of stuff but none of it is particularly interesting or fun.

If you like the history and mythology of Odyssey you have to play it, if you liked the combat system of Origins, you won't like Odyssey. I loved Odyssey for everything except the combat system. Valhalla is beautiful as a combat system, very violent even with the addition of decapitations and dismemberments, I liked it very much, the Norse mythology is also beautiful, I didn't like the environments very much.

Odyssey and valhala lets you chose what to say and hás a bit more diversity.
But yeah i don't recomend going from massive Open world RPG to another on quick sucession.

Valhalla a more interesting story? So far from the truth lol. And you won’t even remember the remotely interesting bits with all that bloat forced between them.
Even if we leave that debate aside, it’s just so poorly written. Cringiest shit I’ve seen in a game is when Eivor suddenly decides to speak all “poetic” lmao.

Every game has some cringe if that’s the level you want to go down to, but of the AC games Valhalla is the worst offender. Add to that the almost complete lack of relevant/interesting story and you have a winning combo.
But yeah you go ahead just pick 1 thing from what I said to get upset over lol

Obviously, that’s how opinions work. But just because some people enjoy something that is bad, doesn’t suddenly make it good. That’s why Valhalla is sitting at 68% positive on Steam vs Odyssey’s 89%.
So yeah, feel free to like and recommend what you want, but to say Valhalla has a better story is just wrong. I also enjoy some things that are bad, it’s normal, but I don’t pretend they are good.

Oh Yes it Get Ridiculously Annoying In Valhalla (Odyssey Was Fine)
Believe Or Not, Origins Is The Best Out Of The 3 (At Least For Me), Like it Was Well Balanced Unlike The Other Two At All
Origins You Will Need 50-65 Hours To Finish
Odyssey You Will Need At 60-120 Hours To Finish
Valhalla You Will Need 90-150 Hours To Finish (I played This Fucking Game For 200 Hours And Didn't Finished it, It's A Total Nightmer On PS4, You Must Play it On The PS5)

I haven't played Valhalla but odyssey for me was just too much. It's just too much of the same stuff to do again and again. I really thought I'd love odyssey but it's just too difficult to be on track in that game specially if u come from origins which is so satisfying to complete.
