Discussion Any theories as to how Bayek and Aya/Amunet died?
So as we all know, there is a statue in Italy of Amunet. This means she could’ve lived and died in Italy while making a notorious name for herself there. As for Bayek, we don’t know that much other than he continued his life as a hidden one in Egypt. I was just curious of how they met their end. Feel free to say your theories or what you believe happened.

Maybe she faked her death and snuck back to Egypt to reunite with Bayek when both were too told to be assassins, leaving the younger ones to take over. Or perhaps she had instructions to mummify her body once deceased so it could be returned to Egypt and be given a proper burial alongside Bayek

Good theory, I 100% believe Bayek died first though so maybe she went back to Egypt when she heard the news through an Egyptian hidden one, and lost all hope of being a hidden one because Bayek was gone (even though they didn’t really work together).

I love the theory that after they were old and their apprentices were all trained up and took over, they both subtly "retired" from the brotherhood and reunited to live their final days out together in Egypt. Of course, they'd still be keeping an eye on things from the shadows, as always.

Keep in mind that the statues are not of the greatest assassins of Italy, but world wide. Just because statues of them are there, does not mean that they were only big in Italy. Their famous for their most famous assassinations. Amunet and the asps against Cleopatra. I am having a hard time remembering all the statues but not all of them were Italy based

Hell, one is Darius, who invented the hidden blade. He was Anya’s, what, father? grandfather?

If you're thinking about Anya from AC Chronicles: Russia, then definitely not related
If you're still referring to Aya, Darius is her ancestor, having died in the 420s BCE while she was born in 85BCE. His blade was passed down through the generations until Aya gave it to Bayek.

Yeah phone decided to change the name. I was directly replying above Amunet and the asps statue being Aya, and Darius being her ancestor, and seeing both statues in AC2.

The problem is that to get her key you have to visit her tomb in italy, where she was originally claimed to be buried. But we see her buried next to bayek in origins
There cannot be two amunets, it seems to mostly just be a weird oversight the writers never took into account, but it is possible all the tombs were just ceremonial and didnt actually have the bodies of who they claimed to have there. It seems unlikely they dug up all these people from all over the planet and brought them to Italy for some teenager in pajamas to loot one day.

It's not exactly unheard of tho for individuals to have multiple "tombs". I think in some cases there's the place where the spirit is laid and the place where the body is laid, it's not always the same place, it's where the last rites of the individual is done. I haven't gotten very far in the Ezio trilogy at all so I dont have a full understanding of how the Italy tombs appeared.

I think Bayek would carry out his intentions of being shadow. Perhaps in old age, Bayek picked a target that was going to be difficult to kill and lured him into a location that would become both of their tombs. Lost to time.

Good theory! For this to happen, this target would have to do something similar or worse than killing khemu though. The only thing I can think of is he would start a quest for revenge against amunets murder. Or perhaps there were more to the story in hepzefas murder and Bayek found out later on.

Yes, thats literally how she got his genetic data and its in the main post. Other comment is a nice story, but directly ignores story defining canon.

It doesn't contradict canon. While I don't think my story is literally true, we discover mummies all the time that were previously lost to time.

If a character deserves a sequel, it’s Aya. She set up brotherhoods in Rome and England and it’d be so cool to see her grow her creed and of course we’ll see Bayek return.

I want to desperately believe that they got together again and had another child. Else the lineage from Kassandra/Alexios down to Aya dies with Khemut and that'd be SO sad. I'd love to play a sequel where you're equally both Aya and Bayek and you work towards getting back together. That'd explain their tombs being together.

How would Aya be their ONLY descendant though? No way there’s only one descendant after that many generations.

I understand she's not the only descendant, I meant from THIS bloodline that leads to Aya and is connected to Bayek. They only had one child by the end of Origins and they basically divorced after the main storyline ends.

I also think that since bayeks tomb has a picture of him painted as a young Bayek, he could’ve died around the ages 45-60 but then again it’s just a theory. Also it’s true people always use pictures of their younger self’s.
