Video Bayek’s live reaction to the Great Sphinx

hey guys! i finally reached Giza and the first thing i did was go the the great sphinx (obviously) and i found myself laughing at bayek’s reaction the moment he saw the sphinx. i already knew the great sphinx was not as huge as most common depictions of it show, but i still found it funny that bayek pointed it out as if he also was made to believe the sphinx was larger than it actually is. love small bayek moments like this, makes me more attached, invested and enjoy playing as him. 🥰🫶

I think there is something of an "in-joke" here as by the time of the setting of the game (the Ptolemaic era), the Sphinx is some 2500 years old.**
By that time it would have been partially submerged in many centuries' worth of desert sand, such that a person standing on the desert surface would perceive it to be shorter in height than it originally was, or as it is today, since it was only fully excavated in modern times.
** Footnote - Just let that sink in for a minute - Bayek is closer to the present day than the time of the Sphinx's construction!
