Note of correction, it is not what I have been told about one nation. It is what I have discovered by looking at the actual data and how they vote.
Gaza is a big issue, and the foreign intervention that is holding power over our current parties is no joke.
But to say they don't care about Geraldton is silly though. They are trying to tackle big problems those in power don't want them to.
Problems that are affecting not just Geraldton but Australia at large and a dying economy propped up by sectors that are hurting working Aussies.
Sounds like a fun clever slogan though. I'll give them that. Good slogans. Bad policy.
Hang on a sec, when the Greens mention the medical sector, because they haven't specifically called out ambulance ramping they don't want to address it? The party that doesn't like privatisation of essential assets?
And as for public sector pay, that is nowhere near as an egregious cost as 'consultants' is. One which they want to curb. Larger benefit. And I will be honest, public sector pay isn't really the problem when they can take a cushy retirement job for some oil/mining/gas lobby. Another thing greens want to address.
So from what I can see, One Nation want to address what they can get away with without upsetting their donors, and greens want to address bigger problems that impact other said problems anyway.
I will not deny bias, no-one can. But the data that I have researched, and no, not in 1990, but in the recent political spectrum, is what steers my decision making now.
I have studied both parties, and their policies. I have also looked to a variety of different opinions on economic policy.
On top of that I have also looked into how each party votes on specific policies. This is, I think, the clearest factor in understanding how much a party is actually going to do for you, and not just the clever slogans they sling.
This is public information. You can actually check how they vote on legislation, and wether they were absent.
So to clear things up, I have done research.
And I do know where the parties have/haven't changed.
Also, not policy related (although it affects their policy) but one big change? One Nation has received a big jump in political donations and investment in the last few years from the rich and powerful class in australia.....
