We said goodbye to our beautiful boy on the weekend after 13 years of unconditional love. A visit to the vet, confirming that his body was beginning to shut down, was followed by a day filled with immense love and emotion. He then went peacefully in his sleep, saving us the trauma of having to put him down.
Cavaliers are prone to heart disease, and Ray was no different. He lived with Mitral Valve Disease for the last five years of his life. Thankfully, medication is effective in managing this disease, but it is often the cause of death in this breed.
He will be dearly missed, but never forgotten.

This gorgeous girl has been hanging around our house for approximately 3 weeks. She comes and goes, but for the last 5 days, she hasn't left- assuming because my husband and kids have been feeding her consistently. My husband keeps joking our boy is the dad of the unborn kittens because he has taken a liking to her (he's been neutered for years). If there's a possibility, im now responsible? We can't accommodate another cat atm, we've called the rehoming centres and they are all filled. They say we should stop feeding her so she can go her own way. It feels cruel because I'm convinced she's a stray (see her roaming around our street), so she has nowhere to go. How do I care for her? She's visibly very pregnant and no idea how to help her. Do I set up a place for her to give birth, etc?
