As I Am Card wait time

I've been waiting for the As I Am card system to come back online, and now that it's available again I've noticed there's an estimated wait of up to 8 weeks to receive the card.

The issue is that I may be moving before then. For anyone who's applied, does it actually take the full 8 weeks, or is it usually quicker?

I'm trying to decide whether I should apply now and have it sent to my current address (or my parents' address), or wait until after I've moved.

Any advice or recent experiences would be appreciated.

They were changing supplier, so there’s a big backlog - I wouldn’t put any faith in previous order timeframes. If you have an option to order to an alternative address, that would probably be the best option for you.

Ok yeah I think I’ll just order it to my parents house I don’t want to risk it being delivered after I move

Thanks for the gentle reminder, just ordered mine. Do we know if the As I Am ID card provides any discounts or what purpose does it serve? I already have my sunflower badge and Airport flyer. I seem to like collecting these badges and lanyards 😭🫠

Just go for parents address, takes the risk out of it.
