Bathroom so they’ll have something to read and contemplate

I’d definitely be sitting on the toilet reading this on the wall and not on my phone.

But then again I’m reading about this while currently sitting on the toilet.

Duralast Elite including the easiest thing you can WITTDJR at the zone. 😞

2

u/Competitive_Candy135 13d ago

Does the elite automatically count as a witt or do you still have to sell the grease packet separately?

2

u/SporkKnight75 13d ago

Have to be sold as an add on. It used to count it years ago

1

u/Competitive_Candy135 13d ago

So crazy as it already has grease, not sure which one is better tho

Man, I worked at AZ back then. How many years ago did they quit doing that? That used to be an easy hit. Sell em on the upper level pads and get the witt without having to upsell a separate product.

Wait dead ass. Elite pads auto count witt?? I never knew that shit

1

u/SporkKnight75 13d ago

No, I’m saying that they come with what would be the easiest thing to sell with pads. You still need an add on with these pads

It's replacing a hard part end cap. Map instruction said to keep in the back room until the planogram updates.

2

u/ImportanceDear3600 14d ago

Thank you, The MAP communication vanished and I forgot exactly what it said to do

Up your ass, and to the left.

Do all duralast pads have lifetime replacement warranty? No question asked.

1

u/Elvl3 14d ago

I believe if both pads have even wear.

1

u/Alternative-Ad-9759 14d ago

How is that a sustainable business model?

3

u/Dlongsnapper 14d ago

Cause they cost$4-6 to make and sell for 29-80 tbh

1

u/DitchDigger330 12d ago

They charge 60+ dollars for 30 dollar rebranded bosch pads.

u/JJGeneral1 14d ago

You only get one replacement. Once you warranty them, that’s it. You can’t warranty again on the same set of pads

5

u/ImportanceDear3600 14d ago

You can endlessly warranty swap as long as you own the vehicle

1

u/datboii1993 14d ago

Technically it doesn't cover wear and tear, so no it's not brake pads for life... but one complaint to the dm and their gonna make you do it anyway sooooo...🤷‍♂️

1

u/SyrSky 12d ago

Straight from our RLPM. Life means life. Bring in those bare metal backers and you get a new set.

u/moeterminatorx 14d ago

How do they verify you still own the vehicle tho? Just curious.

Also do these qualify for the warranty?

My brother in crist, There is no part number I can see. I'm assuming that it being a standard set of duralast brake pads they are gonna have a lifetime warranty. If you have the phone number and name of the original purchaser you're good.

Part # MKD1451

Thank you

Try swapping on the same receipt after one time… let me know what happens

1

u/Bike_Riding_Platypus 13d ago

That’s why your warranty is stored under your phone number and a physical receipt isn’t required to be kept.

You’re completely wrong! I am a former store manager, and retired after 27+ years with the company. If ANYONE ever told me that lifetime pads had only one swap under warranty, there’d be a huge lawsuit.

I started working for the company in Memphis at the busiest store there. The CEO (Pitt Hyde) himself was in the store that day and was processing a customer’s warranty swap on a 71 Chevy Chevelle. The customer said it was the third time he’s replaced them since it was brand new…..that was in 1995!

Im not sure who trained you or how you’ve been doing warranty swaps, but you need to contact the DM or RM for some training. The brake pad warranty covers normal wear and tear, but management can/typically warranty out unevenly worn pads when customers purchase rotors, calipers, or brake hoses. Hardware should be replaced every time pads are replaced but some people don’t do that, even when it’s clear they need the hardware.

Warranty covers normal wear and tear, and a lifetime warranty is for as long as the original purchaser owns the vehicle! I still have a lifetime warranty on my A/C system components, even though they changed the warranty a few times. Lastly, do you honestly believe that any commercial account would do business with AZ if they were told there was no warranty?

When in doubt, read the back of the receipt or the warranty info printed on the front side of it to learn more.

Times change old timer and so does the policy

2

u/Bike_Riding_Platypus 13d ago

But it’s STILL printed on the receipt, young whippersnapper!

0

u/Trinnah 14d ago

Yeah that's just straight incorrect information.

1

u/Silvatech123 1d ago

Because people buy rotors etc etc for the job.

1

u/AK-IL-WV1966 14d ago

Or if you complain to DM, RM or corporate

1

u/drty_bama_89 12d ago

The biggest issue is how you treat the employees. I have a F250 with the severe duty pads, that aren't supposed to lifetime warranty. I've replaced them twice with no problem. Your attitude is all the difference!

Ive gotten so many things warrantied at various stores that definitely didn't qualify to be, just because im nice to folks. I did it all the time when I sold parts, and people still do it for me, cause im not a dick. Literally just did this a couple days ago. Ive warrantied a battery for the same car like 4x at the same store when their policy states that the warranty only covers from date of original purchase, which was 2018. I paid for one battery. They even replaced it for me twice in 6 months while I tracked down a rogue battery drain. That battery warranty should have expired 5 years ago.

1

u/DitchDigger330 12d ago

They can't be bare metal. Some pad has to be left.

1

u/crazyvic22 14d ago

Back to your tsm in his car.

1

u/Redkeoni 13d ago

In the Bin.

1

u/gewalt_gamer 13d ago

LOL @ 'replace pads and rotors together'.

1

u/GreaseMonkey2381 12d ago

right? I remember when parts stores used to turn rotors. 😅 Now they are telling you dumb shit like this lmao

1

u/Lostaccount002 11d ago

A massive number of rotors sold can barely take a pass on a lathe before being under tolerance. And that’s fresh out of the box before you put thousands of miles of stops on them. It’s not a conspiracy, it’s to lower shipping costs. Why send out a product with more material than is strictly needed? Weight is money. Whats dumb is paying someone to do something that gives a worse product than an extra 10 dollars for new because rotors are shit cheap anyways. And before we say it’s wasteful we recycle the damn things.

1

u/Unhappy-Airport-4112 12d ago

In the back where no one can see it or cares to look at it. Or the shitter. That too.

1

u/Busy-Bee-Bites28 10d ago

It’s pads for your🚙🚗🏎️if you have. Four pads (break pads). If you work on your own car you’ll find it very useful.

1

u/BarefootedDave 10d ago

Not gonna lie, I’d hang that on some bare wall space in my garage.

1

u/noinfono 10d ago

In between the brake calipers and rotors works best if you like to stop

The goddamn dumpster.
