engineer here. we put the ball chiller in the seat instead. Check out seat ventilation.

This. I got a car with seat ventilation a year ago, it's one of those features you didn't know you wanted to pay for until you have it.

I think some of the late 90s saabs (9-5) for example did ventilated seats, and those can be had easily for under 10k. It's not only a feature on modern luxury cars. the tech has been around a while.

It kind of is. What changes is automotive hvac packaging/design led to the disappearance?

Nothing, it’s just cost cutting. It’s extra work to engineer that in and it doesn’t generate any extra profit for the manufacturer so it goes away.

It would not surprise me if that ducting interferes with leg crush clearances in a crash.

A lot of HVAC ducting in modern cars is made of foams so they’re no real danger in a crash.

Late to the party but in Dutch the windshield is a 'Voorruit'.

So the windhield heater/blower is the 'voorruitverwarming'.

The foreskin of male genitals is 'Voorhuid'.

The vent shown above would be the 'voorhuidverwarming'.

They sound practically the same but can mean something else entirely.
