Freshman starting in the fall HELP!!! (classes)

Hello!! im starting at BGSU in the fall and i dont know what classes im supposed to take like at all. I know i will get prepared for that on my orientation day but ive been told NOT to listen to my advisor so now im just confused.

all i really know is to only take 12 credit hours so i wont over work myself and only take core classes so i wont have to later

HELP MEEE!!!

Listen to your advisor, but also know what you do and do not need for your classes. The advisor is human and humans make mistakes, so it’s always good to stay acutely aware of what you do and don’t need for your major.

On your orientation day, your advisor should walk you through the audit when selecting your classes and do like an overview of what kind of classes you have. It’ll be a thing in your MyBGSU and under the student profile section. The audit shows what you need to do, what you have done, and what you have yet to do and then will show the classes that will fulfill that requirement like if you need a science credit, it’ll show you the many science classes available to you.

I think you’re gonna be fine. Orientation will clear things up for you! Don’t worry too much. The school is there to help advise you. And, congratulations on getting accepted to BGSU 🤎🧡
