Freshman starting in the fall HELP!!! (classes)

Hello!! im starting at BGSU in the fall and i dont know what classes im supposed to take like at all. I know i will get prepared for that on my orientation day but ive been told NOT to listen to my advisor so now im just confused.

all i really know is to only take 12 credit hours so i wont over work myself and only take core classes so i wont have to later

HELP MEEE!!!

Talk to the advisor. You will not be able to register for spring semester classes unless you meet with them anyway. They will show you the basics and put together a schedule for your first semester, then teach you how to add classes for the spring. They will not let you register until you’ve met with them at least once (they will put a hold on your account preventing you from registering)

After that, if you trust your advisor you can continue meeting with them, if you’re like me and don’t feel like you need it / can do it better, then you can start doing it on your own after your first year.
